Dripping Springs

Overview

Dripping Springs RV Park is nestled within the sprawling landscape of Dripping Springs Lake and State Park in eastern Oklahoma. Originally established to protect the natural beauty of the region, this park has earned a reputation as a premier destination for **trophy bass fishing**. Travelers visiting this park will find a serene environment that prioritizes the outdoor experience, offering a quiet alternative to more commercialized RV resorts. The park is managed alongside the adjacent Okmulgee State Park, providing visitors with access to extensive natural acreage and a variety of **recreational opportunities** centered around the pristine 1,150-acre reservoir.

Location & Surroundings

Located just a short drive southwest of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, the park sits within the beautiful **Green Country** region. The surroundings are characterized by the dense forests of the Cross Timbers, featuring rolling hills and ancient oak trees. The lake itself is unique for its flooded timber and rocky shorelines, which provide an ideal habitat for diverse bird species and wildlife. Its proximity to **Highway 75** makes it easily accessible for travelers heading through eastern Oklahoma, yet the park remains far enough from the main road to maintain a peaceful, secluded atmosphere.

Amenities & Park Features

The park offers well-equipped camping areas designed to accommodate a variety of rig sizes. Many of the **spacious RV sites** are positioned to offer direct views of the lake or easy access to the water's edge. Amenities include:

  • Sites with 30 and 50 amp electric hookups and water.
  • Multiple boat ramps for easy lake access.
  • Designated fishing piers and ADA-accessible facilities.
  • Comfort stations equipped with hot showers and clean restrooms.
  • A dump station for convenient waste management.
  • Picnic pavilions and a playground for family gatherings.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The primary draw for most visitors is the **trophy bass fishing**, as the lake was the first in Oklahoma to be managed specifically for large-mouth bass. Boating and kayaking are also popular ways to explore the timbered inlets of the lake. For those who prefer land-based activities, the **Oak Leaf Trail** offers a scenic path for hiking and bird watching, winding through the woods and connecting to nearby Okmulgee State Park. In the town of Okmulgee, history enthusiasts can explore the Creek Council House Museum to learn about the **Muscogee (Creek) Nation** and the local heritage of the area.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an exceptional choice for **avid anglers** who want to be steps away from some of the best fishing in the state. It is also well-suited for nature lovers and photographers who appreciate a **rugged, scenic landscape** over a traditional urban RV park. This is one of my favorite panacea to camp at. The staff is friendly. Only negative thing is there is no septic hook up.

Stayed here a couple of days. Need reservations and you pay the campground host. The bathrooms were full of spider webs and no paper towels. Even after the service guy was there. Other than that a beautiful park.

We have been going there for the last 8 years It is always clean and well taken care of, the rest rooms and showers are cleaned daily, trash dumpsters and cans are emptied regularly The park personnel are friendly and helpful. There are anywhere from 10 to 38 in our group for the 7 to 14 days we are there. Everyone loves it we usually stay at Hickory Point but all their areas are nice.
