For a taste of local culture, the nearby town of Ogallala offers historical sites like Mansion on the Hill and the authentic Western vibes of the Front Street Cowboy Museum.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination is a premier choice for outdoor enthusiasts and families seeking a relaxed lake vacation away from high-density state park crowds. We have been camping around Lake Mac for quite a few years but Eagle Canyon Hideway was above and beyond our expectations! They had clean bathrooms, no bugs, emptied trash cans daily! We had four camper trailers and two tents in our group, 12 of us with no complaints! The pool, basketball hoop and playground were a hit with the kids! We felt safe enough to let the kids go there by themselves and they even made friends for the weekend! Yeah, it’s not close enough to walk to the lake, but a drive to the lake is not much more than 5 miles. (Through Vans)

We enjoyed our stay at Eagle Canon, this place is just as it is named,a Hideaway, away from the hustle and busel of a tourist trap.Family orientated, and peaceful for a great rest. The sleeper cabin we stayed in was clean and quiet and cool. The Sleeper was not far from the Showers (which where immaculate) and free, with hot water for days. It even boasts a pool which is lovingly maintained. The whole staff was Great and welcoming. We plan to stay again and again. THANK YOU EAGLE CANON

Our campsite was beautiful and spacious. The campground itself is well-kept with freshly mowed grass, lots of activities, and clean bathhouses and laundry center. The managers are fantastic! They are accommodating, respectful, and clearly love being of service.
