Eagle Creek RV Resort

Overview

Eagle Creek RV Resort offers a peaceful high-altitude retreat located in the scenic village of Alto, New Mexico. Situated at an elevation of approximately 7,000 feet, this park provides a cool escape from the desert heat, surrounded by the towering pines of the Lincoln National Forest. It is a well-maintained destination that balances modern convenience with the quiet beauty of the Sacramento Mountains and the high-country charm of the Ruidoso area.

Location & Surroundings

The resort is positioned just a few miles north of Ruidoso, offering easy access to city amenities while maintaining a secluded, mountainous atmosphere. Guests are treated to views of the surrounding peaks and frequently encounter local wildlife, including mule deer and wild elk, wandering through the grounds. The proximity to Eagle Creek and the surrounding alpine meadows adds a refreshing natural element to the landscape, making it a prime spot for nature photography.

Amenities & Park Features

The facility is designed to accommodate various rig sizes with full hookup sites offering both 30 and 50-amp service. Travelers will find level sites, many of which are spacious pull-thrus for easier navigation. On-site conveniences include clean restroom and shower facilities, a laundry room, and a central clubhouse for social gatherings. The park also provides Wi-Fi access and propane services, ensuring that visitors stay comfortable and connected during their high-mountain stay.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find no shortage of activities, as the park is a short drive from Ski Apache for winter sports and summer gondola rides. Those interested in local culture can visit the Ruidoso Downs Race Track or explore the shops and galleries in Midtown Ruidoso. Nature lovers often head to Grindstone Lake for fishing and mountain biking, or take advantage of the numerous hiking trails spanning the nearby national forest lands for endless exploration.

Who This Park Is Best For

This resort is ideal for travelers seeking a serene mountain basecamp that serves as a gateway to the Ruidoso area. It appeals strongly to retirees looking for a seasonal stay in a temperate climate and families wanting to explore New Mexico’s alpine regions. Wifi access point doesn't work on one side of park. Owner wouldn't fix it. Complained for 2 months. Was told she was going to call Dan. Never fixed as long as I was there. Owner is pushy. I wouldn't stay here again.

Good day to all. Although this is our 1st time staying here at Eagle Creek it is a topnotch Resort. It sits in a beautiful environment and with many wonderful people that staff it and the tenants that stay here Are great people also. We will be back to this RV park. Thanks to all

Wonderful RV park in the mountains. Surrounded by pine trees at about 7300 feet. Friendly staff and gated. Short distance to many NM sights. Very large sites with room between neighbors. Plenty of space to park TV or TOAD. Gated with a code as well. Nice break from the cramped parks when traveling through NM. If we are ever in this area again we certainly would stay here.

NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. Won't even let us reserve 2 sites for us and our 5 kids. They have a limit of 4 ppl per site. But won't let us rent 2....why? How many families only have 2 kids or don't bring their kid's friends along?
