East Fork

Overview

East Fork State Park serves as one of Ohio’s premier outdoor destinations, offering an expansive natural retreat in Southwest Ohio. Managed by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, this park encompasses over 4,800 acres of diverse terrain centered around the massive William H. Harsha Lake. The campground provides a variety of sites for RVers looking for a deep-woods experience combined with modern park conveniences and easy water access.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in Batavia, the park is characterized by rolling hills, open meadows, and dense hardwood forests. Its proximity to the Little Miami River valley creates a lush environment for local wildlife and migratory birds. The layout of the camping loops prioritizes spacious campsites and natural buffers, providing a sense of seclusion and privacy that is often missing from high-density private commercial parks in the region.

Amenities & Park Features

The RV-friendly campground features over 400 sites, including several full hookup sites and hundreds of sites with electric connections. Travelers have access to clean, modern bathhouses with hot showers, a well-stocked camp store for essentials, and multiple dump stations. Recreational facilities are extensive, including a 1,200-foot swimming beach, several boat launch ramps, and dedicated areas for pets to enjoy the water and trails.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts can explore an impressive network of multi-use trails, including the Steven Newman Perimeter Trail which attracts hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders alike. The lake is a premier regional destination for boating and fishing, known specifically for its population of hybrid striped bass. Just a short 30-minute drive away, visitors can transition from the quiet woods to the bustling attractions of Cincinnati, including professional sports stadiums and world-class museums.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is ideal for families and adventure seekers who appreciate a mix of water-based recreation and rugged forest exploration. It suits those seeking a traditional state park atmosphere with enough infrastructure to comfortably support large motorhomes and fifth wheels. Because of its vast size and varied activities, it is perfect for travelers who prefer longer stays where they can truly immerse themselves in the Ohio countryside.

Excellent State Park, will be returning here. Even amidst the government shutdown things went smoothly. The park is very clean. I am hoping to spend some more time here exploring and hanging out. There is a little museum on site and they house some local wildlife and some history about the local wildlife. Overall excellent property.

We enjoy camping here. Many of the sites are nice and roomy. It's our "go to" for a close campsite where we can take the boat. A nice quick get a way. The grandkids love riding their bikes and scooters around the end loops. There's a few nice walking trails and those with horses have a nice horse camp and trails.

Full time travelers. We've noticed ohio is one of the most expensive places to stay them other places. But our son is here. So we have to visit. Park is not bad. Did not like the first spot on a curve they put us in. But the other one was a lot better. Not sure if we'll stay again. But it was nice

Very nice place to camp very clean, some bathhouses are a far walk if you have to get up at night time but other wise bathrooms and showers are clean!

Great spot to camp! Stayed two nights in site # 022 which was conveniently placed near the restrooms. Even though the park was full capacity it was still very peaceful. No one was disruptive, everyone was quiet & respectful of others. Had many dumpsters to discard any trash & the park appeared to be very clean. Paid $80.50 for two nights Saturday-Monday. Highly recommend!
