East Fork Resort & Stables

Overview

East Fork Resort & Stables offers a specialized experience for RVers who enjoy the equestrian lifestyle or deep immersion in nature. Located on the edge of the Cumberland Plateau, this resort provides a gateway to some of the most rugged and beautiful terrain in Tennessee. It combines traditional camping comforts with professional-grade horse facilities, making it a unique destination for those traveling with animals.

Location & Surroundings

The resort is situated in Jamestown, TN, directly bordering the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. The surroundings are defined by dense forests, sandstone bluffs, and winding river gorges. The property is designed to integrate seamlessly into the wilderness, offering a quiet, secluded atmosphere away from city noise. Guests often enjoy the crisp mountain air and the shaded canopy of the Tennessee backcountry.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is equipped with full-hookup RV sites that accommodate various rig sizes. Because it caters specifically to horse owners, it features covered stalls and stables located conveniently near the campsites. Visitors have access to clean bathhouses, a laundry room, and a community pavilion for group gatherings. The resort also maintains private trail connectors that lead directly into the surrounding federal park land.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The primary draw is the extensive trail system of the Big South Fork, which offers hundreds of miles of riding and hiking paths. Iconic landmarks like the Twin Arches and Pickett CCC Memorial State Park are just a short drive away. For those interested in local history, the nearby Historic Rugby colony provides a glimpse into a 19th-century Victorian village nestled deep within the Tennessee woods.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is ideal for equestrian travelers looking for a camp that welcomes their horses with quality, well-maintained facilities. It is also a fantastic choice for nature photographers and hikers who prioritize direct wilderness access. If you prefer a rustic, outdoor-focused retreat over a standard highway-side RV park, this resort provides the perfect basecamp for your adventures.

Horse camping at its best. So many awesome trails, you can come for years and still find new trials. Great events. I'd rather have great riding than a big spaceous camp site. Some sites here are really great and some aren't, but of you like nice people and amazing trails, this place is must see.

Best horse camping experience everytime I come! Excellent trails, well maintained and marked. Days of riding! Excellent staff! We had trouble with our awning pulling out and closing. Yankee Clayton helped both time! He was great! Thanks so much! Anne Oakes

This was a great place to have a horse straight away. I heard from some that had been there the week prior that there were some issues with them dumping the trash and getting hay for their horses. We just came for the straight away race and enjoyed it thoroughly and have been coming for years to it.
