East Zion Riverside RV Park
Overview
East Zion Riverside RV Park serves as a tranquil base camp for travelers exploring the wonders of Southern Utah. Situated along the banks of the Virgin River, this park provides a scenic retreat away from the heavy crowds found in busier gateway towns. It offers a peaceful riverside setting that invites relaxation after a long day of hiking. The park balances accessibility to major landmarks with the quiet charm of the Mt Carmel area.
Location & Surroundings
Located in the small community of Mt Carmel, the park sits conveniently at the junction of Highway 9 and Highway 89. This strategic position makes it an ideal gateway to the East Entrance of Zion National Park, which is just a short, scenic drive away. The surrounding landscape features rugged cliffs and the gentle flow of the river, offering a picturesque canyon backdrop that characterizes the high desert beauty of the region.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
While Zion National Park is the primary draw, the park's location offers much more for the adventurous soul. Visitors are within easy reach of the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park and the stunning vistas of Bryce Canyon National Park. Local activities include exploring the Belly of the Dragon tunnel or visiting the historic Moqui Cave. The scenic drive through the Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel is a must-see highlight for any traveler entering the national park from this side.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an excellent choice for nature enthusiasts and photographers seeking a quieter alternative to the busier west side of Zion. It is ideal for families and couples who prefer a more laid-back atmosphere without sacrificing proximity to world-class hiking. Because of its central location between multiple national monuments and parks, it serves as a perfect home base for road trippers planning to explore the Grand Circle of the American Southwest.

If zero was an option I would give it 0 stars! And if you drive an EV, stay away from this place!!! This is the Owner…. Unplugging my charger cable and chopping it with an axe. I plugged in my car to the RV spot with my charger and immediately walked inside as indicated on the sign “register and pay inside”. He (Grant, the owner) walked out the back door with an axe, destroyed my property and then charged me $45 dollars only for me to walk back to my destroyed charger. Luckily my dash cam caught it all. And after being confronted, he lied and denied it all.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Absolutely do not go to East of Zion RV Park if you drive a Tesla—or if you expect even the bare minimum of professionalism. I paid to charge my car here, plugged it in, and left it to charge like any normal human would. Not even 30 minutes later, some unhinged man named Grant unplugged my car and, get this—cut my charging cable in half. With what? I have no idea. Hatchet? Power tools? Rage? When I confronted him, he acted like I was the problem. No apology. No refund. Just straight-up aggression and zero accountability. Who destroys someone’s EV charger for using a charger they paid for?! Completely insane. This isn’t just bad service—it’s downright malicious. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Steer clear unless you want your property vandalized by a man who clearly shouldn’t be running any kind of business, let alone one that pretends to welcome travelers. Tesla owners: YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.

1 star for being close to Zion entrance but check in wasn’t pleasant and not your typical intro. Cost a bit too much for no showers and laundry onsite. Blah
