Campground itself was pretty clean and maintained. The local ranger is very unfriendly and right off the bat was rude. I understand dealing with campers all the time, but I have never met this rude of a ranger in the last 50+ years of colorado wilderness adventures I have been on.

This is always our first camping spot in Colorado. At over 10,500ft of elevation its a great place to sleep and get acclimated. When I was younger I did high altitude endurance mountain bike races, now I climb 14ers with my son.

Fantastic!! Definitely need to go again. The camp sites are close together, but otherwise it was magical. No signal so download stuff before coming up here. It was nice to literally unplug from the world and phones.

Very pretty area. Campsites are not private but everyone was respectful. We stayed at site 1 and there were cars driving all night, even with the road to Mt Blue Sky being closed. It might be a pretty loud site when that reopens. Heads up, this is 10,000 elevation and you can feel it, I wouldn’t make this your first night campground if you aren’t acclimated.

Our first time here. We love the Echo lake Campground. The campground is right near the gate to drive up to Mt Evans/ Blue Sky. It is a beautiful and well cared for campground. The hosts are great and make sure everyone is taken care of and the atmosphere is good for enjoying the outdoors. Glad we could stay here just before they close for the end of the season. We’ll be back

Summer 2021 Review: Tent sites are nice, and the bear-proof storage is clutch-- so much easier than lugging all of your food back to your car at the end of the night! Usually the reservation system through rec.gov will let you know if the water pump at the campsite is not working. I checked the website the day before going, and it said there was water available. When we got there, the well pump was wrapped up in the plastic and clearly had been like that for some time. Caveat emptor-- don't trust the rec.gov website about the water supply. Also-- the campground hosts laid very low and, compared to so many of the other campsites I've stayed at in Colorado, did a VERY shoddy job of keeping the restroom facilities swept and decent. It wasn't hellish but it also was clear they did not take their 'hosting' responsibilities seriously in the least.

Really nice campground, beautiful trails. Camp is set plots, about 30 yards from each other (roughly, average) you get your own plot, a bench, a firepit, and a wildlife-proof storage area. Stones throw from echo lake itself as well as the Echo Lake Lodge (small restaurant, gifts/trinkets, Mt. Adams themed)

In winter time, very few people. This is where they plow to, you must ski, hike or snowshoe from here.

Very nice campground. Lots of trees and rest room very clean. If you don't want to cook try the Lodge. Menu prices are fair and the apple pie is great.

Clean, roomy between camp sites, quiet close to fishing and hiking
