Echo Valley
Overview
Echo Valley Provincial Park offers a striking contrast to the typical flat prairies of Saskatchewan. Nestled between Pasqua and Echo Lakes, the park provides a lush, sheltered environment shaped by ancient glacial movements. Visitors find a peaceful retreat where the Qu'Appelle Valley landscape creates a sense of seclusion and natural beauty. It is a premier destination for those seeking a mix of water-based recreation and scenic woodland exploration within the provincial park system.
Location & Surroundings
Located just outside Fort Qu'Appelle, SK, the park is defined by its dramatic valley walls and access to the chain of lakes. The surroundings are characterized by rolling coulees and dense poplar stands that offer shade and wind protection. This unique geography makes it a transition zone between the grasslands and the parkland, providing a diverse ecosystem for local wildlife and a picturesque backdrop for every campsite.
Amenities & Park Features
The park features well-maintained campgrounds with options ranging from basic sites to electrical and water hookups suitable for various RV sizes. On-site facilities include:
- Clean washrooms and hot showers
- A convenient RV sani-dump station
- Two sandy beaches for swimming
- Multiple boat launches and mini-golf
The Lakeside Campground is particularly popular for those who want quick access to the water for morning swims, kayaking, or evening paddles during the summer months.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Beyond the park borders, the historic town of Fort Qu'Appelle offers local charm and essential supplies. Anglers will appreciate the walleye and northern pike fishing available in both lakes. Hikers can enjoy the Nature Trail, which provides panoramic views of the valley floor. History buffs may enjoy a short drive to the Motherwell Homestead National Historic Site, while golfers can find several challenging courses within the immediate valley area.
Who This Park Is Best For

It was Good scenery place especially if you are living nearby Regina. The park offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and outdoor activities, making it a great destination for a weekend escape. Camping facilities were clean and well-organized, with a good balance between privacy and accessibility.

First time staying at Echo Valley, and we had a great time. We stayed three nights in one of the yurts, which is very worth the extra $$, particularly when you have a toddler. The yurt had nice bunk beds (others we’ve stayed in had one bed and the rest were cots). You’ll want to bring a fan or two if staying in the summer, it gets real stuffy in there. Campsite was clean and so were the bathrooms and showers, which were very close by. Visitor center was nice. Decent playgrounds. Of the two beaches, we preferred the one on Echo Lake; though it was a tad busier, the water was cleaner and the beach was smoother. Mini-golf and ice cream is a nice afternoon activity option. The hiking trails were well-maintained. Would love to return and explore more of the park.

Amazing lake, beautiful wide beach and stunning sunset! Lots of picnic spots and campsite. Nothing much to do but we had fun with the mini golf and ice cream is as good as the one in Cypress Hill. Be back soon!

I recently spent a couple of days camping at Echo Valley Provincial Park, and we had a great experience! One highlight of our stay was the exceptional service provided by the park manager, who kindly offered to bring our kayak back to our campsite when she saw us carrying it back on foot. This thoughtful gesture made our trip much smoother and more enjoyable. The park itself is excellent, with stunning scenery and well-maintained facilities. Despite the mosquitoes being exceptionally vicious, we still had an amazing time exploring the area and soaking in the natural beauty. The trails, lake, and overall park experience made our camping trip truly memorable. We highly recommend Echo Valley Provincial Park to anyone looking for a peaceful and picturesque camping experience. We'll definitely be returning!

We love this little park. It's close to the city and has great facilities. The kids love the beach and the lakes. If you are just looking to get outside for a while you don't have to drive 4 hours to do it. Great play grounds for the kids and the camping sites are all well maintained. We love this place for a long weekend trip.
