The park caters to a wide variety of camping styles with several distinct campgrounds. The Blackjack Spring area is a favorite for RVers, providing full-service hookups including water, electric, and sewer. Other sections offer electric and water sites for those who prefer more rustic surroundings. Campers have access to modern shower houses, clean restrooms, and convenient dump stations. Recreational facilities are abundant, featuring a large swimming beach, an 18-hole disc golf course, an archery range, and multiple boat ramps that allow for seamless entry into the lake for fishing and boating.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find miles of multi-use trails perfect for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The Crooked Knee Trail is particularly popular for exploring the local flora and fauna. Anglers frequent the lake for its reputation as an excellent spot for walleye, crappie, and channel catfish. Beyond the park boundaries, visitors can explore the local shops and small-town atmosphere of Osage City. The surrounding Osage County also features various historic landmarks and seasonal festivals that capture the spirit of the Kansas plains.

Algeirs cabin has toxic black mold. Made me very sick. Called two weeks ahead to confirm and was told the cabins are kept clean. Checked in and first thing I saw was black mold. Tried to sleep one night in the cabin and got very sick. Update: I am sleeping outside while my family sleeps inside. I am so dizzy I can't get up. I will be speaking to a lawyer, the mold has made me incredibly ill.

Huge low use campground except maybe at peak season. Excellent fishing and boating. Good hiking as well.

"EXCELLENT" We love Eisenhower State Park. We normally stay at Westpoint. Had a Electrical issue with camper & had to extend days until parts arrived. Eisenhower was very understanding & worked with us to be able to move sites until rig got fixed even though several campgrounds were closed due to flooding at that time...

U.S. 75 & K-31- Hook-ups, cabins and yurts to rent. So much history around the lake - old barns, school house's, churches & beautiful farms. (A bit of history) apparently back in 1951 there was a devastating flood and in response congress authorized construction of this reservoir in 1954... ANYWAY there's so much to do & so much to see around Melvern Lake!
