Beautiful campsite with great facilities, in the heart of Kananaskis. You need to pay for the showers with tokens, so make sure to get some of those while the office is open.

Great site manager and services. I will be back for sure. Nice playground for kids as well. Clean washrooms. $3 for one shower token(5min).

Nice and quite. There was no cell service so could not be interrupted. Shows at the amphitheater were very entertaining and Informative.

Beautiful forest campground with great surrounding hikes. The amphitheater shows were fantastic for teaching about nature in fun and creative ways. The kids love it. Take your family here for a great camping experience. Alberta parks does a fantastic job here, great work team!!

Deep in the wood, this place is just beautiful. Peaceful and the campsites are mostly private. We were there for a week and we loved it. Many pathways to discover, the smell of pine is just addictive. Upper/Lower Kananaskis lakes are just 10 minutes away, many day use areas for all kind of familys. The only thing that we did not love is that people that's been camping here for years do look very happy with new people coming but at the end is just a feeling. Recommended!!

Fantastic spot. We stayed in A loop, sites were typically quite deep so you could get some privacy. A few were closer together but all very well treed. Very dark and very quiet at night, which was awesome. No cell service, download maps before going. Staff was visibly present which is nice but all guests were respectful, including lots of four legged ones too. The trail maps weren’t the most accurate however the trails themselves are spacious and maintained. My sole complaint is that they have seasonal pricing, however it is by date and not when they shut the water off. We expect the water to be off come fall, but still paid for the full hookup rate. If bringing kids - the amphitheater is a fun spot, there is a playground too. The “lookouts” on the trail map are not worth it, but the walk is. Locally some good hikes are Blackshale Suspension Bridge or the Canadian Mount Everest Expedition Trail (our 3.5 year old did them both) and lots of lake fun to be had.

This campground at this time of year is quiet . Water not on at this time of year. The size of the sites are good with plenty of trees separating you. Managers are friendly and deliver firewood direct to site twice nightly. Clean environment. Stayed for 4 nights and would stay there again.

I wanted to love this campground but I was camping solo and it was just so dark and cold among the tall pine trees. I went on a few hikes (lots of options!) but perhaps it was just too close to Calgary to really feel like an adventure. A day trip would have been just fine....

I have been going to this campground for over 20yrs. This year I have to say was disappointing. The amphitheater was not running even though there was an extra fee for being in Kananaskis. We were told it was lack of funding. Also to put a tent up in my parents camping spot for my son and I to sleep in cost the same price as if we had a full spot to ourselves. I was extremely frustrated with this. I understand additional charges but not the same prices as another spot. If I had known that I would have booked a spot for myself. Also there was no showers this year due to some kind of maintenance on the sewage system. You can not visit William Watson lodge due to construction. As well the bike path down to lower lake was closed due to the usual Bear that kind of lives close by. I understand some of these things were out of control but this year was rather disappointing compared to others.
