We’ve dreamed of going to the redwoods for years and this was really the perfect spot. Cabin with full electricity, plumbing, kitchen, and WiFi, but the only place we found in the region where you’re actually staying in the beautiful woods. There was literally a redwood tree as part of our balcony lol. Beautiful site and facilities, and the staff was always very friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back.

We were gonna stay at Sue Meg State Park, but they were full. I am so glad that we found this place. What a beautiful and stunning campground. I can’t believe we felt like we were in the redwood national Forest. Yes, it’s near the highway and you can hear a few cars at night, but it’s not that bad. This isn’t backcountry camping anyway. It’s car camping. Come on people. But it’s car camping that feels like you’re in the backwoods. Bonus, you get all the amenities like running water and flushable toilets and showers. They have dog parks. The little shop has firewood and anything you need that you forgot. Plus, it’s so close to Trinidad and we decided we didn’t want to cook so we ate out every night. Even got a delicious latte in the morning. We had pizza one night too. Just look up all the restaurants in Trinidad. You won’t be disappointed anywhere that you eat. I would totally camp here again. It was so nice. It’s a quick drive up. They 101 to go to the Redwood national Forest for the day. We did a couple great hikes and had a picnic up there, and then came back to the campground. It was awesome.

This is a very nice campground. We stayed here 20 years ago, and it is still as nice as I remembered. Sites are nestled between redwood trees. There are cabins, too, that have all you need. Our friends stayed in cabin and we had our travel trailer. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is convenient. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here over the holiday weekend and had a great time. We usually camp in our RV but decided to have a tent weekend and it was so nice. The spaces were very roomy and not on top of each other and were very clean. The bathrooms were clean and even had showers yes it was 50 cents but I could see how this would cut down on water waste. The gals working in the little store were always very pleasant and it was nice to have plenty of trash cans and a dish washing station. We will definitely be back.

Trinidad is a charming fishing village along the Northern California coast. We loved staying at Emerald Forest Cabins and RV--somehow it's only 2 minutes to the great coffee shop (Beachcomber) or fish place (Seascape) in town and beautiful beaches but you are nestled among redwoods. I love that it was dog-friendly. The staff are awesome and this is a great place for those wanting to explore redwood country. My only bit of advice is to bring a warm blanket to put on top of the bed. There are heaters in the cabins but the bedding would benefit from a nice blanket. Also be sure to choose whether you want a full kitchen to cook or not.

We stayed here for three nights at a tent site. The park itself was beautiful and had a lot of natural charm, which we really enjoyed. Unfortunately, the bathrooms had an unpleasant odor, and we were surprised to find that showers required an additional fee on top of the campground cost. Throughout our stay, multiple neighbors were noisy late into the night, which made it hard to get a good rest. While the setting was lovely, these factors will likely lead us to choose a different campground next time.

Outstanding experience!! The staff was incredibly kind. Premises extremely clean. There are redwoods all around — it feels like you’re camping in the heart of the park! Our tent site, #46, was amazing. Off to the side so it felt very private and spacious. The only slight downside was it was a bit near the highway so we heard cars driving through the night, but not a huge deal. The bathrooms are also sooo nice. Electricity and SO clean! $1.00 in quarters for 10min HOT shower. I’ve never felt more clean during a tent camping trip which was a nice surprise :) definitely stay here!!

We did not stay here. We drove through the park looking for a suitable tent site. We could have made do with one of the ten unlevel (also mentioned in a previous review) sites available, but when factoring in the charge for showers, we declined on principle. (For $42, showers should be included in a private campground!) The campground photos and reviews seem to emphasize the cabins, which look quite nice. It also appears the camp host likes to respond to the good reviews, not the bad ones, like the person who lost money using the shower. Glad we moved on.

My family spent four days and three nights at the Emerald Forest in Trinidad. The electrical and water hook ups were satisfactory. However, our stay there was less than satisfactory. What was most upsetting was how loud our campsite was. There was lots of noise pollution from the 101 highway. They told us that it would be a little loud, but we were woken up multiple times throughout the night by big trucks. However, what was most upsetting was that The staff would not return money that was used for showering to the amount of $1.50 because the showers would not automatically turn on. Each shower is $.50 for five minutes. we alerted the staff that our quarters did not produce water on multiple showers and we were not reimbursed the money. They stated that they would turn it into maintenance. This to me is unsatisfactory because if your money is taken without you receiving a good in return, that is theft. The campsite is clean and well kept however, I would not recommend it if you are looking to have a peaceful and tranquil night sleep after a clean shower.

This place was pretty great! We loved the beautiful trees, the park was quiet, the staff was really helpful, and the onsite store is great! The only drawbacks were that there was a road right behind our camp spot so we heard the traffic noise. There's not a ton of traffic so it wasn't awful but was enough that I should mention it. The only other drawback was the showers. They are coin operated. With 4 of us camping it was a little bit of a pain to make sure we had enough change to get clean. We would absolutely stay here again and hope to soon!

If you are planning to visit the Redwoods please make a stop at the cabins at the Emerald Forest Cabins and RV Park. They are plopped right in the middle of a Grover redwoods and it's the most unbelievably peaceful place you ever want to wake up to. All the best things about camping without being cold or not being able to read the refrigerator at night, LOL! I'm definitely coming back and bringing family. Oh yeah, did I mention the ocean/beach was about 5 minutes away? Seriously, we had no idea! Trinidad Beach has calm beach on one side of a mountain (ok, hill - I'm from Colorado) and ocean waves on the other. Honestly it's one of the most beautiful places on Earth. I can't wait to go back.

Website stated laundry service, but none provided. This is my only complaint. Bungalow was very cute with Fireplace. Loved the claw foot bath tub. Shower was high on a pedestal, appreciated the step stool. Plenty of hot water. Soap dispensers awkward to reach from shower. Kitchen set up was great, with ample coffee. Cute front porch and small porch in back. No closets or drawers. Not a problem for one night stay. Plenty of Redwood trees surrounding the cabins. Check in very friendly. Great location.

Beautiful place. Unique setting in a redwood forest. The cabins are cozy, comfortable, clean, well stocked with everything you need for a great stay. Nice little touches with nice toiletries, well equipped kitchen and even wine glasses. Well situated, close to Redwood national and state parks and close to the ocean. Most enjoyable stay.

Awesome cabin nestled in a gorgeous redwood forest. It was so cozy for a visit to the redwoods in February. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with dishes and supplies so we could cook. Trinidad is a cute tiny town and you're only minutes away from a grocery store and a couple restaurants. About 20+ min to the parks. Super convenient! Would highly recommend

Absolutely wonderful! Perfect for kids to run around on trails or ride bikes around the circles, trees to protect you from the harsh Sun or the cold wind, and so many fine folks as as your neighbors when it's busy and yet so many spots to have space for yourself if you need it to be calm and peaceful. It's hard to imagine a better spot to camp and enjoy the local Giants.
