Just wish the pads in D Loop were a bit more level and more flush to the ground. Otherwise, we always love it here. We pull in to face the lake so we can still enjoy the lovely view when its a bit too chilly or rainy to sit outside.

I was a little surprised it wasn't maintained as well as other COE campgrounds we've been too. A lot of low overhanging trees on the roads and sites, electrical hookups all full of crud, site numbers worn off, tight angled dump station, rails blocking dump drain, shared water hookups (bring long hoses), 10 cars and boats parked on sites in the grass and roads, very narrow entrance/exit at booth, and gate closed with no access after 10p. You can leave but reverse road spikes prevent reentry. Sites were spacious, but not super level, some were very long which was nice. Excellent view from many sites. Not sure that we'd return....seemed like policies were not enforced and it's structured for smaller campers.

Beautiful campground with lots of space. A lot of deer as well! Very nice hosts at entrance. Bathrooms were out of of order but otherwise perfect. I would stay here again!

The beach at Belle Starr South is one of the best beaches on Lake Eufaula. It's actually safe to walk barefoot here. This is a very safe and clean beach. No glass, no trash. It is spotless. Thank you for keeping this beach so clean. A beautiful place to take the family swimming. Right now as I write this review, it's late September and the weather is perfect for visiting this place. It's very windy but the lake water is pretty clear right now. Be safe and wear swim shoes. Although I walked barefoot on the sand and saw no broken glass anywhere.

We were only here for 1 night but we really enjoyed the park and hope to come back someday. The large cement pads are such a treat, I wish more parks in MN had them. Plenty of areas to walk the dogs and Checotah is a cute little town.
