This is a wonderful campground. Spaces are large and easy to get level. They had firewood at the entrance which was convenient. The nearby attractions including the visitors center are nice. The boat trips to the interior and bay side are quite different. They have a lot of ranger/volunteer led programs, unfortunately we waited too long to sign up for the kayak paddle with a ranger. Birding was great, saw a couple of new species for me. Don't miss the Nike site near the entrance.

Mind the Mosquitos. Cold February was great. There is 40 miles one way to state park entrance. No restaurants/shops. Good for 2 nights bring bikes, kayaks. Food, drinks, Ice and coolers. There is additional 35 dollar fee for 7days or have American the beautiful pass. No hot water, staff leaves at 9pm, then noisy on weekends at tent site.

I tent camped for a few days here in February and overall I’d say it was pretty awesome. I will say that I definitely recommend coming during this time because the bugs were tolerable and not as bad as I heard during the later season. The campground was clean, the staff was awesome, and it was VERY quiet even though there were a few people around me. Bring every bit of repellent and sunscreen you got because you’ll need it. They provide bathrooms(which were clean), dish washing stations, SOLAR hot water showers (I didn’t try it, I went to the gym instead), garbage cans, and anything else you’d need. You do hear the occasional animals but it’s not too bad or scary, especially since the campground is flat and clear from trees. Overall an amazing first experience camping!

Lots of mosquitoes in late November made our stay a little unpleasant - be prepared- and so we eat our dinner in our car and not on the provided outdoor picnic tables. (Rules are no good allowed in tent). The electrical plugs in our glamp tent did not work well as 2 were bent making charging phone batteries difficult. However the tent itself was excellent, bed comfortable and clean space. The Tent had a small padlock lock for security and the bathhouse had a keyed entry. Showers and toilets clean but water cool so be quick! The sunset was pretty as was the sunrise. Towels, sheets and blankets provided. No shampoo or soap provided. We slept with our windows open to catch a breeze however the window can be zippered shut. We would recommend a tented eating facility.

Definitely worth the drive. We did both Shark Valley and Flamingo. There is much more to do at Flamingo. Definitely worth doing a boat tour. The Eco Tents are nice to stay in. You will see so much wild life and plants. Make sure you bring bug spray, pants, and long sleeve shirt. Bring food and drinks or you will be stuck with captive audience rates at the marina and food truck.

Always so peaceful. Incredible place if your appreciate the subtleties of the Everglades.

45 miles from civilization. They have a store, but it is not stocked well. Bring everything you need with you includingfire wood which is $9 a bundle there. Large pull thru sites in the trailer loop. ONLY 45 sites with electric, so reserve way in advance. Fill your water tank before you get to your site and set up. Great place for hiking, kayaking and boating. Not much else to do there. They have boat and kayak rentals as well as two different boat tours. No swimming beach. No Verizon service, no TV over the air. Mosquitoes were not that bad in early March, but...

Rented a canoe and the gentlemen at the pier were extremely helpful and friendly. Would recommend!

Website say "All renters are required to have previous boating experience. Guests not having previous experience or not demonstrating sufficient boating knowledge will not be permitted to leave the dock." But once you drive two hours there and have no cell service they will tell you they need you FL boater 'safety card'...whatever that is. Even if you have an ACTUAL boater's license from out of state. Very disappointing as I would have obtained the FL had Flamingo Adventures been more informative. Hope NPS chooses another outfitter when they award the next concession.
