We went camping Mon - Wed. 3 days 2 nights. Whitehall Bay is a fairly large layout with ample space between lots. We camped at lot # 014. Most of the lots have a great view of the lake. This area doesn't have direct access to the water though. There is also a large group spot in this location. We counted 12 hook-ups. With a large gazebo and several picnic tables. Two large group style bbq's. I'm not sure about all of the lots... Our lot had water, elec. both 30 & 50, and waste disposal as well. No dump station on the way out! A first for me. Lots of May flies, glad we had the bug zapper. They had an issue with the plumbing while we were there. A pipe burst. They were VERY accommodating though and allowed us to use a different campground for showers. Maintenance stopped by several times to update us on the repair progress. They waived our exit time to allow us more clean up time once the water was back on. The park has a swimming beach. It wasn't in very good condition since what appeared to be some pretty major flooding. Lots of drift wood 20 feet or more from the current shore. The dam was still packed with lots of dead wood. We checked out the "so called" walking paths. Ya, nope! Majorly over grown. Looked pretty snakie to me. I love the campground but there really isn't anything to do. No towns close. 20 - 30 minute drive to the closest gas station/town. Tiny, tiny town. If you fish, I don't, bring your bait with you. We did see fish feeding at dusk. We only saw 2 boats on the water the days we were there. I suspect since the lake/park is so far from any measurable civilization is why. Cricket (AT&T) cell service was 5G. T-mobile... Inside the camper I was able to hotspot for the tv. Outside I barely got a signal. Just enough for texting, nothing else. There was no camp host at our campground. No one ever checked to see if we were supposed to be there. Over all it's a beautiful place. I will gladly go again. I'll be sure to take some games for something to do next time.

Beautiful campground. The only bad part is the roads going into the park. You have to go really slow. The dirt road was almost better than the paved road. Get what you need before you go in. Because it's a long drive in and back out.

Campground was decent. We saw the park Ranger more than the camp host which was different. Nice swimming beach, but be careful of the burrs in the grass. They hurt like crazy and if you have dogs with you, carefully check their paws all the time. Hiking trails were a huge bust. Most were overgrown and looked like they had not been used in years. The spiders definitely took over in the trees and ground. If you go, I recommend a lot of bug spray and long pants so you do not end up with hundreds of ticks and chiggers.

We’ve stayed at this campground twice! It is one of my favorites because the spaces are distributed around the park and you get something different environment wise in each section. The lake is pretty no matter which side you stay on, they have sand down at the swim beach area. The camp is mostly quiet and the sunsets are beautiful!

Campgrounds are great. Boat launching area needs dredged. Partially submerged logs in the lake need to be removed as they are hazardous to boating and skiing. The roads used to get to Whitehall Bay need repaired. Lighting needs improved .

I'm not sure what to think about this campground. If your driving from hwy 54, it's a gravel road for 15 miles, mostly single lane and some of it looks to easily wash out during a rain. There was a trailer but nobody in it. I think a park ranger drove around but didn't stop. Law enforcement did drive through and didn't stop. You can tell it use to be a really nice place at one time but has fallen to disrepair. I wouldn't swim in the swimming area. I had water and electric at my site for the low half price of 9$. I walked around and noticed not all the sites are this way. The place has a peculiar vibe. There is the same kind of large flying insects that come out in the evening and make that humming sound. And the coyotes in the morning can be unnerving. Addendum: it's easier to come in off hwy 400.

The campsite we had was right on the water, very beautiful spot. The sites are a bit close together but not too bad, just didn’t enjoy hearing the RV next door running their generator or whatever it was all night (we were in a tent). The bathroom and shower were not well kept. There were so many bugs, alive and dead, as well as leaves. But the rest of the area was lovely.

Campsites right on the water and great scenery! Great place for star gazing.

Nice clean park. No water available for hookup at the family spots on the group spots. Beautiful views. Camp host was very nice. Rocky to get to the water but doable. Would stay at again.
