Farran Park (Township Park)

Overview

Farran Park (Township Park) provides a sprawling, scenic retreat located directly on the shores of the St. Lawrence River. Managed by the Township of South Stormont, this destination offers travelers a chance to experience the unique geography and history of the Seaway Valley. Known for its wide-open spaces and panoramic river views, the park offers a blend of natural beauty and historical significance. It is a place where the pace of life slows down, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the tranquil waterfront environment while enjoying modern camping conveniences and the serenity of nature.

Location & Surroundings

Located in Ingleside, ON, the park is situated on a large peninsula that extends into the river, providing water views from many vantage points. Its position near the Long Sault Parkway makes it a gateway to some of the most beautiful scenic drives in Ontario. The surrounding landscape is characterized by lush greenery and the gentle currents of the St. Lawrence. Its proximity to Highway 401 ensures that the park is easily accessible for long-haul RVers while remaining far enough from the main thoroughfare to maintain a peaceful, riverside atmosphere.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is well-equipped for RV travelers, offering over 200 sites with various service levels, including 30-amp electricity and water hookups. One of the standout features is the expansive, crescent-shaped sandy beach, which is widely considered one of the best in the area for families and swimmers. The facility also includes a boat launch for those looking to explore the river by motorboat or kayak. Practical amenities such as clean comfort stations, laundry facilities, and a playground ensure that guests have everything they need for a comfortable, self-contained stay.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Guests at Farran Park are perfectly positioned to explore the Waterfront Trail, a dedicated multi-use path that is a favorite for cyclists and hikers traveling along the river. Just a short drive away lies Upper Canada Village, a world-class living history museum that transports visitors back to the 1860s. For those interested in local heritage, the nearby Lost Villages Museum offers a poignant look at the communities submerged during the creation of the St. Lawrence Seaway. Fishing enthusiasts will also find the river teeming with bass, walleye, and muskie.

Who This Park Is Best For

Farran Park is an excellent choice for family vacationers seeking a safe, engaging environment for children to swim and play. Its spacious sites and quiet evenings also make it a top pick for retired RVers who enjoy birdwatching or simply relaxing by the water with a good book. Because of its excellent boat launch and proximity to deep-water channels, it is a premier destination for anglers and recreational boaters. Really wonderful spot. We had one of the cabins. It was the perfect size for just the two of us. Having a fridge and microwave was great. Our BBQ didn't work, but we managed. Great access to the Waterfront Trail. We biked to Harris Generating Station and back. S

Our full service site was level with a nice view of the water. It was large but lacked any trees. Good water pressure in the RV and showers. This was our second visit to Farran Park. Last year the beach was incredibly clean. This year it was a mess. Geese droppings everywhere. You couldn't walk in the grass either without having cleaning your shoes. Kids could not play in the sand due to this. We had to shovel the droppings away just to sit. The weeds washing ashore were also never cleaned and smelled like rotting garbage. To add to this there was a swim advisory due to bacteria in the water (not the parks fault). Kids were very disappointed this year.

It's a camping ground, but we come here for the beach as it's less crowded compared to other places. It's an amazing place for day trips. We come from Montreal and it is really nice. We have been coming here for years and it's really a nice place. There is a playground for the kids and a lot of space for barbeque or to have the kids just run around and play. There is also a volleyball net on the beach! I would definitely recommend this for camping or just a day trip

Nice spot, a bit quieter than some camp sites, but great place to relax. The water is very clear and if you have your own kayak it is very fun area. Great place to relax. The 3 glamping sites are great, you get a fridge and microwave , room for 6 max and a gas bbq. Very close to water to launch your kayak.

Very Quiet and well kept park. We loved the tri-hook up. The only downside is the Canada Geese took over the beach. The good part is a private boat launch and close proximity to local shops if you forgot something.
