The family that owns the campground are amazing people and they really do a great job of making sure everyone has a good time but is also safe, at the same time. They have an awesome fireworks display for 'Christmas in July" that literally rivals major firework displays put on by cities, fantastic!

Updated 2023 by me. A campground where you can enjoy hearing the owls hoot at night and the ducks quack during the day. If you're looking for a Rustic campground to relax and yet have the ability to do all those camping things. This is the place. That is why I am a seasonal and updating this post. After reading some reviews, it looks to me lately, that people are forgetting that this is a "Rustic" campground and are expecting modern day conveniences. I come here with my family to get away from all that stuff. You should too. The only thing I carry is a cell phone and tablet which work great if I need them. Somethings to consider when staying at Ferndale Acres. It's Not a resort. This is a campground that has been around a longtime and has stood the test of time. It's a Rustic campground. So... when it rains, enjoy the mud and excess water around. Be a kid and have some fun. When the sun is out, go to the pool and play some cornhole. ;-) Don't expect today's modern WIFI etc.. There is some WIFI around the main office though. With today's technology, there is no reason why you can't add all that stuff to your camper yourself. This way technology never leaves your camper no matter where you're parked. Amenities like showers, bathrooms and laundry are all available. Yes! they are dated as this is an older campground. but... I have to give them credit, they are clean and well taken care of. Mine all work great in my camper. Does yours? Pool is fun and the activities are great. Something to do every weekend. Store has just enough and if you need something the store doesn't have, within twenty minutes or less you are at Market Basket. There is even a sub shop that delivers to the campground. Sweet!!! Back to the comments. Yes! we all know that it is easy enough to pick apart anything in the world today. We all understand that anything we use, campgrounds, restaurants, big box stores, AMAZON (*chuckles*) and even the internet can disappoint us at times. So when you read negative comments about anything out there, please try to look at the whole picture. As the old saying goes, Someone's trash is another person's treasure. So in conclusion, try it... if you don't like it. That's okay. NH and all the other states have many campgrounds to explore. Be safe, be smart and enjoy life. Later.....

Starting with the positive, the owners are very kind and seem like good people. The monthly price point included electric and wasn’t too bad either. That’s about where the highlights stop unfortunately. My family stayed for a month in June and our overall experience is that the campground has definitely seen better days. It does seem like they are slowly slowly making improvements but they have a mountain of improvements still needed. 1- The road into the campground. Yes it rained more than average for the month of June. However based on previous reviews it looks like they encountered rainy months before and had the road conditions brought to their attention already. So why they haven’t invested into some preventative measures with the road yet is beyond me…. I’m talking crawling down the mile long entrance praying you don’t damage your suspension bad. As well as when just coming and going for the month being an event where pot holes out numbered drivable ground! 2- The site we were on ended up becoming badly washed out with lots of ruts and essentially felt like we lived in a bog for a month. Some crushed stone would do wonders as well as learning how the water flows on your campground to then create barriers and direct the water. Some of the other sites we saw were just a bad… We were at site 107 and the ones next to us 108 and 109 were basically under water at times! With 109 not being able to use the fire pit due to the the puddle it sat in even after the rain stopped. 3- The playground is very run down, out dated waiting for a kid to get hurt on… nothing more to say on that… very disappointing. 4- The bathrooms, cobwebs and dingy. No lights in stall either. Need to be updated 5- The water smelt horrid… We ended up in a month going thru 2 filters while there and then had to replace them again when we got to our next location. I’m talking 3 stage water filters…. 6- The electric posts were put in very close to the ground. Our surge protector had to lay on the ground in the mud and was barely able to be connected but to how low the posts are. 7- slugs everywhere… It seems like they’re going for a “rustic” feel and trying to maintain keep some privacy between the sites back to backs… unfortunately it’s all just a lot of dead brush and piles upon piles of pine needles that are staying soaked creating a whole ecosystem of slugs.. 8- The “beach” swimming area. The water did not look or smell safe to be in. Even with all the rain the beach area water was not moving and had this film on top. Would not touch. We did not visit the pool, or game room. Overall we wouldn’t want to revisit them. Even tho the owners are nice that only goes so far. Maybe if they invested into the campground some. But as it stands no. EDIT: Based on the owners comment back- I grew up and maintained a class 6 road for over 10 years and am aware what rain does to roads as well as aware of how to properly maintain them. It all starts with taking measures before hand… So, as for knowledge before hand that comment is not needed :) Your water does smell we tested it from the tap direct as well as at our new spot it doesn’t have the same smells. Have a great one. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Just recently had our first time visiting this campground and was a great time! The sites provided you with everything you need (water, sewer, electric, fire pit and picnic table). There was also clean bathrooms and showers. My kids loved the playground and tho cold there was a nice big in ground gated pool to swim in! The owners are super nice and so weren’t all the campers. No one would walk or drive by with out giving a smile and a wave! Which seems to be rare now a days so that was just lovely! :)They also allow dogs which is a plus! And have activities to join in on. Would highly recommend!

My wife , son and I spent 4 nights here. I chose this place based on a recent WMUR voters choice #1 in NH. Overall I think we had an okay time. But admittedly I'm a bit dumbfounded by the #1 thing.. I can appreciate the smaller family owned place isn't going to be a "resort" like some of the bigger corporate owned places. Few things kind of bugged me an they are more intended for constructive criticism. 1. No Wifi except at the office. Now I understand alot of folks view camping to get away. I get that. But it's 2021 folks..The younger kids love their electronics and us adults need to be able to do things like work from home (or campground) ect.. I feel this is just a must have in this day and age. 2. My site was very uneven. More then a few leveling blocks could take care of. All the roads were pretty beat up and narrow. The layout was just odd in many places. The road coming in was rough also. 3. The wood. 10 bucks for a little crate full are you kidding? Worse it didn't want to burn. I ended up grabbing sticks and a fellow camper gave me some kindling to try an get it going. But some of the logs were still left half burned in the pit cause they just refused to burn.. As for the good. We did enjoy fishing. They did have a nice live band play. We enjoyed the pool. We had a decent time. The staff was friendly.

There are a lot of kids in the campground and speed limits are in place to protect them when a camper sees someone driving to fast they will yell to slow down. Most people will slow down keep going. When someone feels they must return driving faster and provoke the campers then the owners must take action.

Managment are very unprofessional and don't handle complaints in a professional and proper manner. They make you feel very unsafe.

Family owed and operated. Friendly and welcoming. Very happy to have gotten a seasonal site. It's brand new and almost ready for our camper!
