Fisherman's Point Group Camp
Overview
Fisherman's Point Group Camp is a secluded, rustic retreat nestled within the Willamette National Forest in Oregon. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this location offers a classic Pacific Northwest camping experience. It is specifically designed to accommodate larger gatherings looking for a quiet escape far from the bustle of modern commercial RV resorts. The environment is heavily wooded and serene, providing a perfect backdrop for those seeking a primitive, nature-focused getaway.
Location & Surroundings
Located on the shores of Fall Creek Reservoir near Lowell, Oregon, this campground offers direct access to the water. The surrounding landscape features lush forests, rolling hills, and the tranquil waters of the reservoir. The setting is notably scenic and quiet, making it an excellent choice for travelers who prefer a landscape defined by towering trees and expansive lake views. The road access is manageable for most rigs, though the remote nature of the area provides a genuine sense of seclusion.
Amenities & Park Features
The facility is intended for group use, emphasizing basic comforts over high-end resort luxuries. Visitors will find vault toilets and trash collection services on-site. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, perfect for outdoor cooking and evening gatherings. Because this is a primitive facility, campers should arrive fully prepared with their own water supplies and power sources, as there are no electric or water hookups available at the individual sites.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
The primary draw of this area is the proximity to Fall Creek Reservoir, which is ideal for boating, fishing, and swimming during the summer months. Nature enthusiasts can enjoy the surrounding trail systems, which offer opportunities for hiking and bird watching. The nearby town of Lowell provides basic supplies, while the slightly larger city of Eugene is within driving distance, allowing campers to easily venture into town for local dining or cultural activities if they choose to leave the woods.
Who This Park Is Best For
Fisherman's Point is best suited for self-contained RVs and camping groups who enjoy a rugged, off-grid atmosphere. It is not designed for those seeking high-speed internet, full hookups, or resort amenities. Instead, this park caters to families, large groups of friends, and outdoor enthusiasts who prioritize privacy, direct water access, and the authentic silence of the Willamette National Forest over traditional campground convenience.

Went on a family camping trip and was impressed. The camp site was next to the bathroom, had a fire pit and picnic table, as well as water access for camp. The bathroom had no running water or lights but was clean and the swimming area was a three minute walk away.

☆In search of Fall Creek Falls, southeast of Springfield near the small town of Fall Creek, Oregon, another digital creator & I found Fisherman's Point Group Camp after failing to reach our intended destination. From the perspective of my drone & in addition, walking into the camp parameter, I found the grounds to be in good repair, with bathrooms & potable water available. The camp was unoccupied with obvious signs of closure for the winter, I can not add much beyond my visual account except to say the surrounding meadows & forest with Fall Creek winding down through thr rocks toward the vast msadows is a beautiful site. I certainly would enjoy what the facilities offer.
