Its proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway makes it an ideal jumping-off point for scenic drives, waterfall hikes, and exploring the rugged landscape of Western North Carolina.

For those who enjoy the outdoors, the area is a primary hub for hiking, fly fishing, and mountain biking along the many trails of the Pisgah National Forest.
Who This Park Is Best For

It's been many years since we have been. This little camp ground is a piece of heaven. Tent camping right by the water. Great cabins. It's small but awesome. Not far from maste general store. Local food is close.

Perfect spot to take a tent and just relax next to a peaceful creek. The shower house is spotless. There was very pleasant live music playing during part of our stay. Staff were friendly. Other campers helped us start a fire that we were under-prepared for haha... great place. Definitely want to go back.

I enjoyed my time here. It ended up raining but we were able to switch our stay to a cabin. Customer service was very pleasant and worked with us when a problem arised after emailing them. I will say watch out near the creek, loads of snakes within the rocks on the edges. Bathrooms seemed clean but it did have a smell on the outside of them. It is located right by a busy highway which can make it difficult entering and exiting at times.

Great campground. Severely damaged last year in Hurricane Helene. They have been working hard to get it back in shape and are doing a wonderful job. Beverley and Tom always there and available. Very helpful and pleasant. Convenient to Boone. Highly recommend.

We stayed here on the 4th of July weekend and had a blast. We stayed in one of the rustic cabins, but we would have preferred to stay on a creek side campsite (they were all booked by the time we registered!). The cabins were exactly as described, very clean with a fan on the ceiling. We brought a few more floor fans and that was helpful to keep the air circulated. Our kids slept in the bunk bed, there was a double size bed and enough space on the floor for a twin XL sized cot, and a pack and play. The only thing that I wish were better was that the bunk beds creaked really loudly. The bolts need to be tightened, and it woke us up a few times overnight as the bunk sleepers shifted around. The campground is small but has a very homey feel with the most delightful mountain creek for endless kid play. Seriously my kids never wanted to leave it. There’s a communal grass area around a playground where the kids congregated and played at night. The bathhouse was clean and as you would expect, but the area around the bathhouse was a little septic smelly. It didn’t permeate through the campground at all but definitely smelled as you got closer to it. We would definitely come again to stay here! Well located and a great value.
