Flying U Country Store, RV Park & Campground

Overview

Flying U Country Store, RV Park & Campground serves as a welcoming oasis for travelers exploring the rugged beauty of central Utah. Located in the quiet town of Joseph, this park blends the convenience of a well-stocked country store with the tranquility of a traditional campground. It is a family-operated establishment known for providing a personal touch that larger resorts often lack, making it a reliable destination for those navigating the I-70 or US-89 corridors while seeking a peaceful place to rest.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the heart of the Sevier Valley, the park is framed by the rolling foothills of the Fishlake National Forest. The surrounding landscape is characterized by wide-open vistas and the nearby Sevier River, which provides a serene backdrop for evening walks and birdwatching. Its position makes it a strategic base for visitors heading toward Utah’s famous national parks while offering a much quieter, rural atmosphere away from the heavy tourist crowds found in more populated hubs.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed to accommodate a variety of rigs with spacious pull-through sites and full hookups including 30 and 50-amp service. One of the most unique features is the integrated country store, which offers a fresh deli, essential groceries, and propane. Guests also have access to clean restrooms, hot showers, and a convenient laundromat, ensuring all the essentials are covered for a comfortable multi-day stay or a quick overnight stop during a long haul.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to explore just minutes from the campground. The world-renowned Paiute ATV Trail system is easily accessible, offering hundreds of miles of riding through diverse mountain and desert terrain. History buffs should visit the nearby Fremont Indian State Park to view ancient rock art, while those looking for relaxation can soak in local hot springs. The Sevier River also provides excellent opportunities for trout fishing and peaceful river floating during the warmer months.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for adventurous ATV riders looking for direct trail access and a friendly home base for their expeditions. It also caters perfectly to long-distance road trippers and retirees who appreciate the ease of big-rig friendly sites and the convenience of having a grocery store on-site. Nice little gas station, we stopped for chips but noticed they serve food as well and it’s good!!!! We tried the pastrami sandwich but next time we’ll definitely try the burgers and more things on the menu. They have icecream from Beaver county creamery, which is nice to see since we live in Beaver but the creamery is always busy or closed on Sundays. Friendly service. Thank you.

The location was good, the electricity worked well and we were able to dump our tanks. There was a nice concrete pad, the site was level, and the water pressure was perfect. However, we parked next to equipment used to paint at 6 am. The sound was loud and scared us awake. There was a dog behind us that barked most all night. We got little to no sleep. The owner is new and making improvements. He called and apologized, which I really appreciate. The store is cute and breakfast smelled delicious. We would stay again, but not along the outside fence (spots 1-4).

We just stopped here for a bathroom break on our roadtrip from CA back to CO and ended up eating lunch when we saw the great menu and fresh food they have. The staff was very kind and accommodating, the bathrooms were super clean, and the owner pointed us to the picnic tables behind the building as a nice area for our four kiddos to run around before getting back in the car. If we ever come through Utah again, we will definitely be stopping here in Joseph!

The gals in the morning were great. Breakfast sandwiches were delicious. The gentleman at lunch were awesome. Made our complicated order flawlessly.

Best place to stop get gas and grab a bite to eat. Love getting a blt with tots. Trina is the kindest sweetest person you’ll ever meet! Always get sad when we stop by and miss her, but all staff here are so very kind.
