I have only visited when my husband is participating in a colonial re-enacting event. A Colonial Market Faire is held at Fort Frederick every year on the last weekend in April. The grounds are beautiful and tours of the fort are available. It is a nice place to visit.

Nice quick historical site to visit. The employees are so knowledgeable and were willing to share even they were busy getting things ready for the opening of the season.

Interesting fort and beautifully kept grounds. Park Ranger was very knowledgeable about the local history. Small museum with some interesting displays in the visitor's center. Visitor's center is always open even if the buildings inside the fort are not. Fort gate was open for our visit but buildings were closed.

A very amazing place. The history here is palpable just walking around the fort, even before you hear any of the stories. The staff we encountered were so helpful and courteous. First, the visitor's center staff member walked us through the map, and also gave a good explanation of other pertinent information about the park. Then, staff we encountered at the fort were very personable and willingly shared interesting historical details about the site (even though tours weren't being given on that day). The displays at the visitor center are very well done. We were pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. Looking forward to going back and seeing and exploring more. Highly recommend!

What a beautiful property and the staff does an awesome job maintaining it. Visit Thursday through Sunday, all the features and exhibits are open. Don't forget the visitor center with its new exhibit display which is accessible everyday. Large paved parking lots with room for any size rig or RV. I had 3 bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming throughout the property.
