Overall great park. The shower building was not working, so they had a temporary one in place.

The campground was beautiful. My site was very well treed and had a secret trail to a fenced dog park behind the campground which was nice.

The park is very nice with large sized lots but unfortunately the main showers and washrooms are closed and have not been fixed since the flooding. They made available a two shower trailer. See pic. Given that the main facilities are not available the park should be offering a lower cost/night. A nice feature just a short walk from the camping area is a dog park and baseball diamond and a nice view of the Liard river .

Awesome little park close to town. The park is being restored when we went in July 2022 due to the 2021 flood. Park was available but needed to take our showers at the rec center who were accommodating and friendly. Great park, clean, friendly staff and good lots. If in Simpson, good place to camp.

I've given a 3 or 4 to other NWT Parks. The facility has the standard split between powered and non powered sites. Very few of the non powered sites were level enough for a tent or bug shelter, or leveled parking. Many of the powered sites were so angled it strained ability of leveling jacks to perform. The park layout was good overall. The shower room had limiting hours from 8 until 9, but staff did not lock it up until closer to 10pm. Shower rooms and outhouses kept clean. Small playground in middle was fun for younger children, although it amused 11 year old for 15 min. The community shelter next to it offered a BBQ and a stove for heating shelter, but it was locked and nobody knew where the key was. Water wasn't available at camp. Watch for edible plants in and around camp, some are yummy and some are poisonous. Saw some bats, but couldn't identify. Would be a good geographic location for Northern Lights, but park is very treed, one would have to walk toward adjacent ball diamond, caring to stay clear of Arbour and other cultural sensitive sites. Campsite rules were not enforced while we were there while some special events were going on during the weekend - check ahead before booking as it could be an all nighter of loud music and celebrating instead of sleeping.

Campsite 13 is beside the playground and has a spot large enough for 2 tents.

Great little place. It's close to town but other than day time traffic noise you would never know it. The bathrooms and free showers are amazing here, some are even heated. Would stay again!
