We had a pull through, full hook up campsite. One of the best state park campgrounds we have stayed at. Our site had plenty of space, good water pressure and our fire ring was nestled behind our camper. There are plenty of trails, one going down to where the prairie dog town is. There is a boat ramp as well. Store and gas station about 10 minutes away. I would return here!

Stayed at Fort Stevenson State Park for a week. We were able to rent a boat slip for the week. Very convenient! Park staff was very friendly. Camp hosts Rod and Linda were very friendly, we noticed hosts cleaning campsites after campers left. Bathrooms very clean and well lit. Can't forget to mention ice cream at Marina Store, so good. Wish the weather would have cooperated a little, but that's North Dakota this year.

What a spectacular weekend at Fort Stevenson State Park! The annual Sky Fest is truly something magical—colorful kites of all shapes and sizes dancing over Lake Sakakawea, kids laughing, and the kind of small-town joy you just can’t replicate. From the candy drops and night glows to hands-on kite-building stations, everything was thoughtfully planned and family-friendly. The park itself is stunning—peaceful trails, beautiful views, and plenty of space to picnic or camp. If you’re looking for a North Dakota treasure to visit on Memorial Day weekend, Sky Fest at Fort Stevenson should be at the top of your list. We left with sun on our faces, wind in our hair, and smiles that’ll last all summer.

Had a great time. Stayed in a cabin by the marina. Very well kept two bedroom home away from home. Good hiking trails. Good fishing. Great people. Ticks are common. Stay protected.

Attended the annual Skyfest held on memorial Day weekend. It is a beautiful spot for this. We also enjoyed walking the shoreline looking at petrified wood and searching the rocks for fossils. Because it is a state park you can't take the fossils but it is still fun hunting for them. Close to the site of Skyfest is camping spots, both tent and camper. There are also a lot of trails you can explore.

The walking trails are so scenic, The beach so peaceful and beautiful. Spots are private and spacious. I ♡ the prairie dogs. One of my favorite parks. Only complaint would be dog owners who don't keep their dogs leashed which leads to dog owners who don't clean up after their dog!

Great family atmosphere. My 4 year old loved the parks and my 9 year old enjoyed the trails. Truly glad for the worker at the entrance station.

I do have one complaint. People need to put their pets on a leash. I was riding my bike with my dog. and another camp did not have there dogsbon leash almost caused me to crash. My dog was on leash. It is not hard to figure out. Put your dog on leash .
