I don't know why Google is asking me about how the rooms and service were here or how the hotel was because this is not a hotel! It's a historical landmark where there is a model of a French fort (Fort Toulouse) from the French and Indian War and also ruins of an American fort (Fort Jackson) from the 1800s. Luckily I stopped there on the right weekend when they were having a re-enactment/living museum weekend. It was fun!

The French & Indian War reenactors were very knowledgable and engaging. We especially loved the musket and cannon shooting, but just seeing the reproduction barracks and Alabama Creek houses was awesome. I wish they did this stuff more than twice a year.

Very cool place, absolutely beautiful. And the reenactments are incredibly informative and fun.

Nice place to get away and feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. Enjoyed the old buildings, location on the river, and the places to walk. The bathroom was clean. Bring a picnic. Cheap admission at $2/adult and $1/child

Definitely not like when I was a kid. The only reenactments they had were just people "making" things and talking to the people standing right in front of them. Not one person spoke loud enough for everyone to hear. Gift shop was a tent of overpriced items. Not a building like before. Porta potty access. They used to do each things as one group. Now it's about 5 groups of undisciplined kids in one area and 5 more in another area. Was really upset to see it went downhill so bad. A waste of $45 if I ever seen it.

We spent a really beautiful Saturday afternoon hiking around the park. It is worth the stop, especially for kids learning American history! Stop by the visitor center for a map first, and it describes all the stops at the park on a hike. We walked slowly, took us about 1.5 hours and about 2 miles all around the stops.

Good local park. The campground is a small operation, but run by nice folks. Bathhouses are well kept up and clean. We have camped and had events there and they've always been welcoming and helpful. We also had to move our Scout Camping weekend there last minute and they accommodated us (20 Scouts and adults) no problem.

Fort Toulouse is a great historical park. For $2 you can explore the arboretum, the historical buildings, the campground and the river. A great place for a picnic. Love exploring in the spring and looking for plums and blackberries. Pioneer days is an awesome annual history fare. Be sure to check it out.

Interesting piece of history. Fairly small place. Campground looks average but plenty of space.
