Good spot to take a little nature walk in. I did a short walk/hike while in the area for work.

This was my first time camping here. The sites are gravel/grass and are HUGE! Enough room for a large RV and two tents. Each site is very private and surrounded by vegetation. We went over Labor Day and it was very quiet. There are on large lake, lake Charleston, you have to drive to and a small fish pond on the camp ground. Trails were fun (moderate to rugged). Great park if you want some peace and quiet

Great place with clear walking trails, lots of activities and not crowded. There are playground areas for children and a camping area. There are picnic tables and grills throughout the park. Great area for fishing or kayaking as well!

Fox Ridge is gorgeous and a lot of pretty scenery. Trails are not marked like they should be if you use the map on the signs by the trails. You need to pick up a paper map at the office or download the map on your phone. Be careful or you will get lost. Other than that we love the park and the camping space.

Good place to go hiking through out the year. The hunting area isn’t near the hiking trails. You can do some small trails or a larger loop that is about 5.5 miles long. Some of the trails need a little work and to be cleaned but it was a nice day hike.

Campsite are nice albeit a bit close together. All rv people while we were there while we were tent camping. Trails are decrepit. Completely lost under downed trees and over grown brush. We ended up lost even with a trail map. Had to break through the tree line and follow the river back to the car. Most handrails are broken and nails are sticking out. Main camp restrooms are very clean.

We went fishing here even though it said don't go fishing. We caught a few bass that we ate and some other smaller fish we used for bait. We overcooked the fish so is very chewy but I'm sure otherwise God's restaurant would have been tastier. I wish we would have been allowed to use the stairs to be able to get down to the water easier. It's a great spot to enjoy nature. Don't worry it was cleaner when we left and when we arrived if you're reading this park rangers.

This is one of my favorite Illinois State Parks. The camp hosts are super nice and helpful. I like staying during the week, it’s almost always practically empty. There are awesome heavily wooded and beautiful trails. The campsites are spacious, level with electric 30 amp hookup, fire pits and picnic tables. There are playgrounds, picnic areas and Ramadas in the park. Highly recommend spending a day or week here.
