Amenities & Park Features
The facility caters specifically to the needs of the RVing community with full hookup sites that provide both 30 and 50-amp service. As a marina-focused park, the key highlights include a private boat launch, accessible boat slips, and a dedicated fish cleaning station to process the day's catch. On-site cabins are available for those traveling with friends who do not own an RV, and the presence of the marina ensures that essentials for a day on the water are always within easy reach for all guests.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
The primary draw is undoubtedly the world-class fishing for largemouth bass, catfish, and crappie. Beyond the water, the Trail Between the Lakes offers miles of hiking through the national forest, while the nearby town of Hemphill provides a glimpse into local history and small-town Texas culture. Birdwatching and wildlife photography are also popular activities, as the lake attracts a variety of migratory species and bald eagles throughout the year, offering endless opportunities for nature lovers.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is the perfect match for dedicated anglers and boating enthusiasts who prioritize direct lake access and functional amenities. It is also well-suited for retirees and families who enjoy a slower pace of life and a traditional fish-camp atmosphere. If you are looking for a relaxing place to fish for a few days, you’d probably enjoy Fox’s Lodge and Marina. I do wish they would have done a better job with their descriptions. Their “cabins” are really old house trailers. They are kept up, but nothing above basic accommodations. The beds are clean and comfortable. The water has an overpowering sulfur smell. Wish they would treat their well for sulfur bacteria. If you are not fishing, there is not much else to do. There is nothing to keep kids entertained at the marina or nearby. However, you can take a lawn chair and sit by the lake and enjoy some fresh air.

Nice and quite place with privet boat ramp next door. Nothing fancy, cabins are quiet and clean. Owners are great people and supper nice and will do whatever they can to help. I have been there twice with my son and friend for fishing tournaments and will go back.

For the last 4-5 years a good friend of mine and I try to make as many visits to Toledo Bend as we can during the months of February and March. There is only one place that we consider staying at and that is Fox's Lodge. Dave and Pam do a fantastic job of taking care of the place and the people who stay there. We love the location, the facilities, the people, and most of all, the fishing. The cabins are exceptionally clean and everything in them work. The boat dock and fish cleaning area is well lighted and they have plenty of power outlets everywhere to use. Pam always has great advice on how to catch sac-a-lait and even shares with us some that she catches. Great people, great lodge, great experience. Always.
