Shion “Via”

There's a really nice beach and free showers. However the water is usually contaminated, so make sure to check the water quality when you go. I would not recommend swimming in general tbh. But the park is pretty nice.

Fantastic campground! Surprisingly quiet during the September long weekend. Sadly there was blue green algae in the lake, so we stayed out. Showers are available. Wood for sale only during posted hours. Incredible night skies!

Its a family campground. Very open and dog friendly. THERE IS NO DRINKABLE WATER. Not even after boiling. Only 1 set of showers, but there are plenty of outhouses scattered around. Staff are really helpful

Campground was just ok. Site 190 was nice for privacy. However, must’ve had wasp hives nearby as our site was filled with wasps, and at any one time you could see over 20-30 wasps actively in the site. People partying on the weekend well into the night, 3-4 a.m. with loud music and yelling. Not pleasant. Beach is small and water was unsuitable / unsafe for swimming. No safe water available. Nice area for bird watching tho as we saw pelicans, bald eagles, yellow legs, herons, hummingbirds and cranes. Showers and bathrooms not cleaned well. This is expected while camping but even entering washrooms directly after cleaning and still disgusting. Main problems were with parties and noise, clean washrooms, and lack of swimming area or hiking trails or really anything to do at all.

Went here over the August long weekend. Decent campground, but lots of sites lack any kind of privacy from the site next to you. Water is non-drinkable/non-potable, so make sure you bring water. There are lots of wild raspberry bushes around the campground. The lake would of been beautiful if it didn't have blue-green algae, which brings up another point.... The beach should of been blocked off from allowing people to enter the water. The first night, we witnessed parents allowing kids to swim in the water. I feel sorry for the kids who could of gotten very sick from being in the water. Even witnessed a couple allowing their dog to go into the water. If you are wanting to have a campfire, make sure you bring your own firewood. There is a good place to get firewood, just west of the campground on Hwy 660. If you want to buy firewood at the campground, they have horrible hours... You should be able to buy campground 7 days a week, anytime during the day. Even though there are some negatives, it is still a decent campground and I would recommend it and will be camping here again.

awesome great experience the Franchere store is fabulous how ever if you need other items go directly to Bonniville and avoid the grocery store in Glendon well worth the extra 8 km

I think the place was ok, the campsite I got was very spacious but there were not enough trees for privacy, some of the sites are very close together, however the ones that had no power seemed spacious and more private. Also the beach place was very small, the water was unsuitable for swimming and the kids were disappointed. We tried to make the best of it, we had good neighbours but I would not come back to camp here.

Nice campground but keep in mind the spaces without power are the nicer ones that are in the trees. The campspots are tight if you have a large trailer and a lot of us had to go down the one way road backwards in order to get into the spaces
