Always loved this park. Been coming here for over 20 years. Always a great experience. Looking forward to taking my family to the pool this next summer. We weren't aware of the expansion to the park since it's been a few years. The upgrades are great

This is an excellent park for outdoor activities! ๐ I usually come to this park to rent a kayak on the lake! [Highly recommended activity here] It's very quiet here with plenty of trees and paths to walk and enjoy the serenity! The workers at the desk are very friendly and easy-going! French Creek State Park is also an excellent location for stargazing! ๐๐ญ I have yet to attend one of the star parties at Hopewell Furnace, but I'm sure it's worth it! Definitely worth a visit if you haven't been here yet!

Not a bad hike. Some good views, but the power lines and cell towers take away from it a bit. A lot of it is a rock driveway, which also isn't great, but the actual trail portions are a fun hike. I did not make it to the Devil's Pulpit, but plan to go back for that and will try to remember update when I do. Overall, I'd recommend other local hikes over this one, but it's still not bad.

The Boone trail is a nice 6 mile loop. The trails are nicely maintained and clearly marked. There were 2 fallen trees along the trail but they were fairly easy to climb over. There's portable restrooms in the middle of the loop. There is clear signage at the intersections of trails making it easy to navigate. Some areas are rocky so a sturdy shoe is recommended. Some small inclines but nothing too strenuous.

Very nice state park. We stayed in the campground and it was okay. The sites are very close together and it's pretty muddy because there's no gravel layer next to the paved camper spots. Also, we paid extra to have a second vehicle at our campsite and there's no room to park a second vehicle. We tried to park in the grass at the site but we were told we had to move to the overflow parking which was pretty far. We had large fishing kayaks with us and had to take the kayaks off at the site, park in the overflow, and go back and forth every time we wanted to go out on the kayaks. It was a lot of extra work. The lakes in the park were really nice though and my husband caught a lot of fish, which he was happy about. Overall, it was a nice weekend, we will just prepare for the annoyances next time.

Mid Oct 2020. Loop D site # 4. We camp at French Creek once or twice a year. It's a great family campground. Loop D is the only loop with no electric hook ups, so overall it is mainly tents. This time we stayed at site 4. I would say it competes with 6 for the best site in the campground. It is big, flat, and has plenty of room for more than one tent, along with trees for tarp and string light hanging. It is nice to walk or bike thru the 4 loops, and of course the hiking at French Creek is abundant. We went in a new direction this time, to a new boulder peak and it was a very nice hike. There was unusually little park ranger drive-by activity this trip, generally you see them a number of times throughout the day and evening. We did have our first encounter with a raccoon visitor at nite which was a good reminder to store our food in the car which we have gotten last about. We have never had trouble or a bad time at FCSP and will be back soon.

Sites could be a little deeper for larger RVs to keep vehicles all the way out of the road. Other than that great place to stay. Loved the fire flies

Gorgeous camp sites...a bit packed in, but a beautiful area nonetheless. Fully intend to return for future visits!

Nice campground was fine for price . Need to level the site better and make bigger had to turn car sideways to fit in spot . Bathrooms need more upkeep inside the same spiderwebs with their spiders were there the whole two weeks I was. It looks like they just look inside and didn't do anything to clean them. Camp host was great and the place was beautiful so I guess you can Overlook some little things. Will be back again next year hope to same spiders aren't there . Lake was beautiful and park was lovely.

Great family campground. Well laid out with fire pits. Parking on site for one vehicle with overflow parking on entrance road. Plenty of trails to hike, a lake or two to fish and a small town or two nearby if you have an emergency or need supplies. We all had a good time there a recommend it.
