French Quarter RV Resort (FQRV)

Overview

French Quarter RV Resort (FQRV) offers a boutique camping experience right in the heart of one of the world’s most iconic cities. Unlike sprawling rural parks, this facility provides an upscale urban resort setting with 52 paved, level sites. The property is designed with high-end finishes and maintains a focus on guest safety with its fully gated perimeter. Travelers can expect professional management and a clean, structured environment that feels like a private oasis amidst the energy of New Orleans.

Location & Surroundings

The park is situated on North Claiborne Avenue, placing guests just a short walk or quick ride from the historic French Quarter. While its location under an interstate overpass creates a distinctly urban atmosphere, the interior of the park remains remarkably well-insulated and secure. The surrounding neighborhood allows for immediate access to the vibrant culture of the Tremé district and the nightlife of Bourbon Street. It is one of the few places where you can park a large motorhome while staying within city limits.

Amenities & Park Features

Despite its compact urban footprint, the resort provides a wealth of luxury features. The central clubhouse and saltwater pool serve as a social hub for guests, while the hot tub offers a relaxing retreat after a long day of sightseeing. Other essential amenities include private bathrooms with showers, a modern fitness center, and on-site laundry facilities. Every site is equipped with full hookups, including cable TV and Wi-Fi, ensuring a comfortable stay for big-rig owners and small camper van travelers alike.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Staying here means the best of the Crescent City is at your doorstep. You can take a scenic stroll to Jackson Square or enjoy a beignet and coffee at the world-famous Cafe Du Monde. The nearby St. Charles Streetcar provides an affordable and historic way to explore the stunning architecture of the Garden District. For music lovers, the jazz clubs on Frenchmen Street are easily accessible, offering an authentic taste of local sound. The resort’s proximity to world-class dining ensures you never have to travel far for a great meal.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for urban explorers and luxury travelers who prioritize location and security over natural scenery. It is a top choice for those who want to experience the festivities of Mardi Gras or the Jazz & Heritage Festival without the hassle of a long commute. Because it is big-rig friendly, it appeals to motorhome owners who typically find metropolitan parking difficult. If you want a secure, manicured home base while you dive into the deep culture of New Orleans, this is your spot.

Not RV friendly. No free parking . Pushed you to use RV parks which were 70.00 to 120.00 with minimum of 2 night stay. We were just passing thru. Anything outside the decor/ architecture of French Quarters was sketchy to say the least. Narrow streets with garbage under the bridges and littering all over the streets. Roads are terribly maintained.

Fantastic experience at French Quarter RV Resort. We loved how close we were to the French Quarter, how quiet the RV park was. Yes, there is noise from the nearby highway, but the hum of our air conditioner completely blocked it out. The park is very safe with full time security on staff. The onsite laundry is so nice and convenient. The price is high here, but for good reason. You can't get a better value in New Orleans!

Perfect place to stay while visiting New Orleans! Easy walk from just about anything in the French Quarter. A few blocks from Rampart and Canal streetcar lines. We'll maintained and very clean. Felt very secure.

Very safe and clean RV park with large sites and gazebo or seating structure at several sites. Convenient laundry, showers, and pool and also a large air conditioned room with coffee, microwave, games, and large TV. Walking distance to French Quarter and only a block away from Cemetary No 1 - we did a great tour there and it was so close. Staff and security guards were very nice and helpful. Only thing to note is if you have a truck camper with trailer the hose for water may not reach the connection - you have to back into the sites and the connection is at the back of the site.

We (couple, no kids or pets) have been rv-ing for less than a year in our used Airstream, so we’re still learning a lot about how we prefer to travel/camp. We really debated between booking this French Quarter RV for the proximity to New Orleans or the KOA with a 20+minute Uber ride. And we’re so glad we prioritized being able to walk to downtown and stayed at the French Market RV!! This was our first time in an urban campground. We saved a lot of money on parking and/or Uber rides and it was just more enjoyable being able to go into town during the morning and come back to relax during the hottest time of day, cool off at the pool, and go back in the evening. We’re on a 22 night trip and almost always prioritized bookings for nature and kayaking, but we came to New Orleans for the city. Walking to downtown took us less than 10 minutes from the campground. Security was excellent (gates, door codes, security workers). We felt completely safe. All the staff were kind, helpful, and polite. Every morning they had a crew working on cleaning and maintaining the grounds—the campground is well cared for. There’s a huge billboard pole in the campground which is different, cool, and made for fun photos of our Airstream. The campground doesn’t have a lot of shade and is a level parking lot with street lamps, grass between sites, no picnic tables (but it was so hot, we stayed inside our rv while on site), some of the more expensive sites had nice outdoor lounge furniture and screened in awnings and one even had a covered outdoor tv with a bar. The restrooms that make a compound around the pool were very clean and individual rooms vs stalls, were deep cleaned every morning, had luxurious plush toilet paper (!! so nice after rv toilet paper). There’s a nice small pool, seating in shade or not and even a hot tub!! A bar area around the pool area. Free coffee in the clubhouse from 8-noon! The campground wasn’t crowded when we were there in late July and was very quiet. Our AC is also loud (which we love) so we don’t ever hear anything outside. One suggestion, it would be nice to have full size mirrors in the bathrooms. Our camper doesn’t have one and it’d be nice to see how much weight I gained from all the delicious food we had easy access to! Oh, there’s also a small gym and vending machines with prices lower than Walmart. If we ever come back to New Orleans, we won’t have to think about where to stay… obviously we would stay here.
