This is the best family. They treat us wonderfully!! Prices are very reasonable. This may be a tiny stretch off the highway but we'll worth traveling into to stay. Rooms are very clean and super spacious. Landlord of property is a great man!!

I cannot say enough about how much I love this place!!! We had our wedding here this past weekend, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! We had the wedding package that had the event center Saturday (with the new addition add on), and the rental house from Friday at noon till Sunday at 3pm. We also had booked out the entire motel, and it couldn’t have been better for our bridal party, guests, and out of town family! The event center is beautifully remodeled with a stunning bridal suite. The rental house is also recently remodeled and it is gorgeous (photos don’t do it justice)! And the amazing family that owns and runs this venue is a dream to work with! I kept changing my mind about decorations, tables, etc and they rolled with the punches! Sweetest, most caring, and efficient people to work with!! If you’re planning a wedding in South Dakota, this is it!!

What a great, positive experience at Gate City Event Center. The Rutten family treated us like THEIR family for our son's wedding. The main house is gorgeous, the motel rooms spacious and clean. The event center was a perfect place for the reception. The grounds were immaculately kept for the outdoor ceremony and we were blessed with a beautiful Fall day. Thank you, Tom and family!

I like to give credit due where it's due. I'm passing through the town of Canton South Dakota on highway 18 Hitch hiking. I stopped and got a room fir the night. I had the opportunity to meet the Owner named Tom I found him to be a totally genuine nice person . Very polite and outright Nice people. This is a beautiful little campground and town as well. The Motel here is awesome Folks passing through the town of Canton please dont pass this place up. Let's support our Mom and pop American run small businesses and give them all the business they can get Thumbs up to a great place and awesome own Tom.👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
