I was there recently on a women's retreat. We had a great time. The staff were all very helpful and the rooms, though old, were nice and clean. My only complaint were the horrible decorations in the dining room. They were disgusting ugly Halloween decorations, not beautiful fall decorations. Please do a better job of decorating for the fall. Thank you.

Cabins are fun and interesting. Could be cleaner and better stocked, but a pretty good value. Rooms are fine, but dated and over priced. Staff varied. Some were very helpful and fun. Better communication is needed throughout. We had a wedding and booked a significant number of rooms. Better to use AARP discount! It had been hot. Website said pool open until November, weather permitting. Phone calls to lodge 24 hours earlier indicated pool was open. Arrival? Pool is buttoned up tight for the season. Nobody knew anything about the Rec Room. 3 towels in a three bedroom cabin and housekeeping had gone home. Told we could take Leftover food from the wedding breakfast buffet, then rudely told we could NOTremove any food from premises, despite the fact all the food sitting out was going to be disposed of. Best of all? Told we had to shut the wedding down at 10 because they needed to set up the temporary location of the restaurant. So many things changed at the last minute. It's beautiful, the bones are there ... but the edges are rough.

Amazed to find this quiet, scenic, historical park & very private resort on a hilltop in Carrollton. We were only there for the night - but wish we'd had more time! Enjoyed magical views of the river, a spacious, very clean, quiet, pet-friendly room with a balcony and several hiking trails a few yards from the door. Beautiful, well-kept pool and a manicured disc golf course across the street. Will definitely keep this in mind for a future getaway!

I had such a great time at General Butler State Resort Park! The place is beautiful and super peaceful. The lodge rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was really friendly and welcoming. I loved how quiet it was at night, it felt like a perfect little getaway. There is so much to do too with nice hiking trails, a pool, mini golf, and plenty of space just to relax. The park has this old school charm that makes it feel cozy, but everything was well kept up. It is definitely family friendly, but also a nice spot if you just want to unwind. I would definitely go back, it is one of those places where you feel like you can slow down and actually enjoy being outdoors.

Loved it's original charm and the peacefulness of this lodge. The kitchen is in renovation right now and the building and rooms do need some repair and updating; but overall, we loved this lodge. Everyone was very friendly. Shout out to the front desk, Mary and Skye, for you kindness. We can't wait to visit again. We already picked out our room before we left. LOL
