This is our favorite place to go camping. The only thing we wish they had that they don't is sewer hook up. There is a dump station in the campground. They do have nice showers in the public restroom area. They are well kept. There's plenty to do in this park biking, walking, visiting the museum, archery, and fishing. They sponsor events during the holidays and other occasions. You can also enjoy a train ride during certain events. You can also kick back and do nothing. There are fire rings, grills, and picnic tables on the campsites. Most of the waterfront sites are 50amp; there are other sites that are 30amp so be sure to look at that before booking. Booking online is easy. The Cypress Grill is a restaurant with views of the water and the food and service is good. The marina is near the campground also. This is a great place to stay and you can bring your pets too. There's a playground in the campground.

Stopped by the little visitor center at the Georgia Veterans State Park on Lake Blackshear, and I was so impressed! The ladies inside were super friendly, helpful, and full of great info about local things to do. The park itself is beautiful — tons of picnic shelters and spots you can reserve, plus cabins right by the lake. There are plenty of camping and RV areas, and you can enjoy just about everything here: golfing, hiking, fishing, boating, swimming, dining, even dancing! The views are gorgeous and it’s such a peaceful place to relax and explore. Definitely recommend checking it out!

It's a wonderful place to go camping or just visit for the day. We are have been camping since Thursday afternoon. The sites are spacious and keep clean. We are here in October and most sites and the camp ground are decorated for Halloween. It's so neat. It's kinda quite even though we have seen kids. We are allowed to have our boat at our camp site without it being on the trailer, which is extremely nice. You can walk out your camper onto the boat. Not many camp grounds offer that perk that we have found. There's a playground, an office with a few essentials, boat ramps, docks, a restaurant, a a Sams shortline train rides & most importantly, there's military monuments.

I had a great tube staying here. I'm not a fisherman, but if I was this spot would be a great place to camp. The staff was very friendly and even opened up the door after hours to help accommodate my late arrival. Highly recommended.

I.love. This. Place! Camp site on the shore with our boat tied up near the camper. What more can you say. Stayed here three times and will be back soon I hope. The campground isn’t the only part of this package. The state park is nice with a really nice static display of military aircraft and ground vehicles. Would love to see more modern aircraft and ground vehicles added to it. I forgot about the lack of sewer hookups this time, but the dimp station has two lanes and is decently close.
