Such a beautiful, peaceful place! We were there for one night, and enjoyed the trail around the lake, swimming in the lake, the quiet, wooded campground & the beautiful views of Mt. Adams.

We started our 4-day backpacking trip at this campground, and while I would love to give it a four-star rating, there are literally no amenities other than a pit toilet. Five stars for the forest of course, because the forest is always wonderful, but Washington state has abdicated all of its (vast) funding for something else😑. No water!? Why am I paying $20 a night to throw down my tent here. It should be a free campground. I suppose it could be free because there is no camp host. But the minute you don't pay your fee, there will be a $100,000 a year ranger rolling up in his $75,000 brand new pickup truck to give you a ticket. I'm just about done with Washington State.

You have to see it! Beautiful from every angle of the lake. Camp at the campground or use the day use area to hike around the lake or further for a longer adventure.

If you can deal with the spring mosquitoes and summer biting flies, this is like heaven on earth. Mt Adams looms as a sentinel across the lake, there are campsites (don’t recommend any mh over 25’ and getting reservations can be a challenge), outhouses, boat launch (people-powered floats only), and lots of hiking opportunities. The road in/out can be challenging, but this is MY special place.

The best place to go if you wanna get away from civilization for awhile

Great quiet place if not on weekend..beautiful lake scene with Mt. Adam's behind it! Beware the road to get there is semi rough!

If you get there early enough for the day, you have no issues with parking. Have to have either a NW forest pass or pay only $5 to park for the day.

Made this a one night stop while driving section 1 of the WA BDR. Got lucky and scored the last spot that wasn’t reserved. The bathrooms are pit toilets but clean. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. Everything was clean and friendly people around. Quiet time of 10pm was respected. The lake and view of Adams was the best part. People power and electric motors are allowed on the lake. The only real downside was lots of bugs due to the lake.

Very remote. Bring your own water. Great spots for camping.
