Lovely campground. August is just about perfect here. Not too hot, lake was perfect for swimming. My midweek visit was quiet and super peaceful. There is NO water here and NO garbage service. If you're visiting be sure to bring lots of drinking water and be prepared to pack your trash out. Some people were stacking up their garbage by the bathrooms and that's just shitty behavior, no pun intended. Love this place. It is an annual trip for my family.

We were there 9/14 - 9/15/2024. Beautiful lake, beautiful to walk around. Kids had great fun just messing around. We didn't bring our dog or a boat, but there were plenty of people who had, and they were having a blast, so we wish we had brought our doggo. If I was rating it just on the nature, 4/5. We set up our tents and started a campfire inside the metal ring. The park host came around in his truck and said there is a fire ban, only propane stoves, no wood fires. From 8/9 - 10/1 I think. This was not posted on the website, as far as we could tell. It was posted on camp message boards, but who checks those carefully while they're driving into a camp? And what good is that information when you're already at the campsite and have no way to prepare? To add insult and ire, that evening the camp host built a big bonfire next to his camper, with people gathered around. We just looked at it in disbelief on our way to the toilet. I can accept us being at fault (to a degree) for not researching the fire rules, but the hypocrisy was blatant and insulting. Clean shack-inside hole-in-floor toilets. Toilets pitch black at high noon. No water faucets, not even for non-potable water. All the faucets seem to have been disconnected/disassembled. No other facilities that we encountered.

Got a first come first serve site on a Thursday after wildfire smoke was thick closer to Mt. Adams. What a beautiful campground and lake. My wife and myself typically prefer dispersed camping with maximum privacy. We decided to give this spot a chance and we were totally enchanted. Weather was great, the water was crisp and clean. Restrooms were clean. Were there people? Yes. Were there dogs? Ugh, yes. Insects? Sure. Suburus? So many. Quiet night sleep? For sure. Ultimately, this place was a quintessential PNW campground experience. We’ll be back.

This lake was absolutely beautiful! We had a fairly large group and didn't camp actually inside the campground, we did find a spot among many others about 10 mins from the campground that got us all and was a bit more secluded, which was very nice! The gravel road to get up there is a little rough, but manageable. Water is damn near crystal clear and we will definitely be going back!

We do our family camping trip here every year. Beautiful lake, great campground and dog friendly. The host even moved things around and helped us get 4 spots all together. Great hikes around the area as well!
