Great little campground! Wasn’t super busy during our stay, bathrooms were clean and sites are convenient. Beautiful views, and access to trails is nice. There is a race track in close proximity that you can hear and many planes fly directly overhead, so it’s not the quietest campsite.

Bath houses need updated!! I would hive a 3.5 if possible because of the bath houses. This is the second time I've stayed at Gifford Pinchot State Park in early Fall. I have stayed in the "A" area in electric sites that back up to the water. The lake is large and I've kayaked on it. There is a trail around the lake but hiking is not that interesting at the park. We have stayed here to venture to Gettysburg and other parks in the area. The men's section of the bath house has showers with no private place to change. You have to stand out in the hall with direct view of the door. One of the bathroom stalls had its door broken off and there is a shower curtain covering with a large gap. The urinals appear to leak and there is an odor. Other state parks have much better facilities. Other than that, we have liked our campsite. Not all sites are created equal. I prefer electric when possible. If I go back again, we will need to find other things to do in the area.

Overall, this looks like a nice, family friendly campground. I didn't have a lot of time to explore, so my feedback is pretty basic. The section I was in was close to the lake, but it is not in view due to tree growth. In site #304, which was a little small for the RV, and most of the sites in that section were 'not overly large'. This particular site had a slight slope for parking, and the area between parking and the picnic table didn't drain well, so was muddy. 30amp service at the site, which was good, as it was hot and humid and the a/c was nice. Lots of play areas, easy access to the lake for canoes and such. Looks like a great spots for kids and nature!

There are about 280 campsites at Gifford Pinchot State Park. The campground has its own very nice beach with parking. There is a range of sites including many with electricity and some pet friendly areas. There are showers and restrooms and a sanitary dump area. Hiking and a mountain bike trail pass through the campground.

The campsite was not near as nice as pictured on the park website. It has standing water and mud everywhere. Just this site. It's odd. We toured around the campground and found most of the sites were small and very close together. We came here because we have stayed in the cabins here before and they are beautiful. Well stocked, clean. We expected a bit more from the campground. Also the bathrooms are very old and not well maintained. We are staying a week, hopefully some of this water dries up.

Beautiful park. Lots a of trails and effects. Clean facilities. Too much wood smoke for me; but to each his own. Would like to go back.

This is definitely a campground... The bad-- the water has been out for three days Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday maybe) That means most people have gone three days without showers, running water, or using a proper toilet. Instead there is one portapotty PER BATHHOUSE (which generally had 10 stalls total when open). They tell us to use the utility sinks, which have running water but no soap. Seems fine if you have a water tank, but for us in the yurts, it's absolutely awful. Campground staff say it's because of a water main break off site, but they have just locked the bathhouses and put zip ties on the water pumps so I assume that there is still water around, the just want to conserve it. This is absurd and bordering on a violation. I would put at least 10k on the assumption that nobody else in the region (private homes) is undergoing the same treatment(forced to use no water at all) but hundreds of people at this park are deprived of water. Why not have water hours, so we can take a shower and use a bathroom for a set amount of time per day? They said it would be fixed by Sunday night or Monday (it wasn't) and now it's Tuesday morning and I'm not optimistic. I think this is a super cool place most years, but when you factor in the lake is drained so we can't swim, the brief power outage on Friday, and the three/four days without water I can't recommend this place. Other reviewers mentioned the bad shower conditions. Yeah, they're gross looking, but seem clean enough and just wear shower shoes. Staff might be a little rude, but I like the quiet hour enforcement (though I did get chased by some woman ranger for "rolling through" the stop sign that I definitely could have let someone else go if it were necessary but whatever). Maybe try next year.

Lots of space in-between RV-'s and tent sites. Not like other campgrounds. Plenty of shade from the trees. Just a few with no shade. Pick your own site. Recommend take a drive there and check it out first. Been coming here since 1991.

A beautiful campground with a great lake for kayaking. Decent bathrooms, but gross showers. However the obnoxious park ranger working during our stay was so rude that it quite frankly ruined our weekend and we’ve decided it is not worth returning. If you want to actually enjoy nature, I guarantee driving a little farther will be worth it to camp with a staff that wants you to enjoy your stay.

Very well maintained camp area . One of our favorite places to visit. It's peaceful and quiet with a pet area, beach and plenty to do...or not do if you just want to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature.
