Overview

Glen Helen Regional Park serves as a sprawling recreational oasis situated at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains. Spanning over 1,300 acres, this park offers travelers a unique blend of natural beauty and active leisure. Whether you are looking for a basecamp to explore the Inland Empire or a scenic weekend getaway, the park provides panoramic mountain views of the rugged peaks and a tranquil escape from the nearby urban bustle. The atmosphere is generally lively and community-oriented, reflecting its status as a premier regional destination.

Location & Surroundings

Located in San Bernardino, CA, the park sits near the intersection of the I-15 and I-215 freeways, making it an exceptionally accessible stop for those traversing the Cajon Pass. The surrounding landscape is characterized by the dramatic convergence of the San Gabriel and San Bernardino ranges. This strategic position allows RVers to enjoy a majestic mountain backdrop while remaining close to the conveniences of the city, providing a perfect balance between geographic accessibility and natural surroundings for travelers passing through Southern California.

Amenities & Park Features

The designated RV area features sites equipped with full hookups, accommodating various rig sizes for a comfortable and convenient stay. Outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of two large lakes stocked for fishing, while families often flock to the extensive seasonal swim complex which includes dual water slides and a splash pad. Additional park amenities include sprawling picnic groves, a challenging disc golf course, and multiple playgrounds, ensuring there is plenty of room for recreation and relaxation right outside your door.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Music lovers frequently visit the park due to its immediate proximity to the San Manuel Amphitheater, one of the largest outdoor concert venues in the country. Beyond the park gates, travelers can explore the historical significance of Route 66 or head north into the San Bernardino National Forest for high-altitude hiking, biking, and sightseeing. For those seeking retail therapy or diverse dining options, the Victoria Gardens open-air lifestyle center is just a short drive away, offering a more urban experience.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is ideal for active families who appreciate having water-based activities and playgrounds within walking distance of their campsite. It also serves as a premier choice for concert attendees wanting to avoid long drives after a performance. Because of its location along major transit corridors, it is a convenient and versatile stopover for long-haul RVers looking for a scenic and amenity-rich place to rest before continuing their journey through the high desert or toward the coast.

Great place for fishing, just wished people would clean up after themselves. Lost of wildlife to see, beware there are coyotes

Went there for Nocturnal. AMAZING. Had a great time! Parking will always be a pain but it is what it is and there are people to bike you up and down.

Event parking lot is a nightmare, bug ricks, gravel and dips. But the park and paved sections are great! Clean and good breeze!

We love coming here to bbq. We set up my the smaller lake. There's ready can, cement table. We take our grill, easy up, blankets & baseball , soccer stuff & have good shade under tree.. They accept debit. It's open early & close late on a Saturday.
