We had to make an emergency trip to Elizabethtown for a family medical emergency. Even though we arrived late on our first day, the manager checked with us to make sure our site was okay. She assured us that we could continue booking our site one day at a time as we had no idea how long we'd be in the area. This worked out great, as it was nice to have a quiet sanctuary while away from the hospital. The campground is clean and well shaded. There appear to be quite a few full-timers here, but everyone was friendly. We enjoyed walking on the quiet nearby roads and even found a short trail around the campground lake. The bathrooms were clean but the showers could use a shelf or a few hooks to hang stuff. You can hear I-65 (it's less than a mile away as the crow flies) but we didn't find it to be too distracting. We'd definitely stay here again if were ever in the area. Mammoth Cave is just a short drive away and there are plenty of museums in the area.

Price is ok, but campers beware: the office is NOT open past 6PM, they don't answer their video doorbell, and they charge a $15 late fee (well-hidden in their lengthy terms and conditions) if you don't show up before 6. They have an online check-in, which they send twice (make sure you do the second check-in that looks like a duplicate!). They told me you'd have to call ahead if you want to get there later, but they didn't actually say if they'd waive the fee. They also don't pick up the phone after 6pm. Service over the phone is abysmal if you can get it... But good luck. To sum up: if you can get them to work with you, can get there before 6, or jump through the right hoops, I'd recommend. The campground is pretty, quiet, and fairly convenient from the highway. Bathrooms could use some significant work, but are serviceable enough.

Great overnight stop on our drive from Tennessee to Indiana. The hosts Valette and Greg were absolutely wonderful. The campground was well tended with a playground for the little ones. We don’t have little ones, but I couldn’t resist a ride on the merry-go-round! The facilities were pristine with piping hot showers that had great water pressure. Perfect TMobile signal and ***free WiFi *** which allowed us to get some work done. Conveniently located near 65 without too much traffic noise. Would definitely return here. Pick site 14 for the best view beside the lake.

We travel for work and have been to many campgrounds all over America. This is one of our top 5 campgrounds. We have been here long term and will be sad to leave. Everyone is friendly, quiet, respectful. The area is safe. It’s well kept and clean. A good location to downtown but also private. The office staff is wonderful. They give you your space to feel at home and do what you need to do without being under pressure of a million rules. Everyone feels like family here. Highly recommended !!!

We have been looking for camping near Elizabethtown that has the camping feel not just put on a slab in the middle of town. This seems perfect for our first trip. They say new owners have taken over and it has been neglected. So they are updating (Playground could use updated and spots just need to be evened out, not very even for parking). Staff was very nice and helpful with all my questions. Laundry and bathrooms were nice. Can’t wait to check out the pool this summer. Updates to come from next few trips
