Such a delightful place to stay! Full disclosure- there is an hourly-ish train that passes across the river, but we didn't wake up at night. We slept right through it. My family loved seeing the trains. We even got to see the Rocky Mountaineer pass by! -There's large private, pull through RV sites (unserviced). -There's back-in water/electric sites right on the river. -RV dump located at the check in building. - Have power adapters to rent for $3 if you don't have the right size - a bag of firewood & building permit is less than $17 -2 washers & w dryers on site. $4 each. -clean heater shower building at office. -clean, un-heated showers in the campground. -bear food lockers available- bring your own lock! -outdoor dish washing station at campground bathroom building with HOT water. -a beautiful, short trail wraps around the park. And a level walking oath along the river that takes you in to town. -My kids LOVED the amazing pump track/ skate park a minute away. -walkable to everything downtown. Hardware, groceries, restaurants, bars, laundromat, thrift store. -The staff are amazingly friendly. I can't think of a single thing we didn't love. We stayed in a tent in late September so electric hook ups at our pull through site would have been great, but it wasn't a deal breaker. Overall 5/5!

It's a really good campground, you have clean showers and toilets. Also on every lot is a fire pit and the crew is very nice . Also the train is not that loud. We visited other campgrounds where it was much louder, like in Revelstoke.

Really enjoyed our stay here—the view of the Kicking Horse River right in front of us was beautiful, and watching the trains go by was a bonus. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and the washrooms were kept clean. Only downside was the mosquitoes, which made it a bit hard to fully enjoy the evenings.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. Some of the comments seem a bit ridiculous and unfair to me! ALL of this info is listed on the website- ‘Across the river from us is the Canadian Pacific Railway. If you are a Train Spotting Enthusiast you will enjoy the River Sites. If you are a light sleeper we would suggest to keep this in consideration. Bring a White noise Machine or Ear plugs.’ I felt like the camp hosts and the Facilities Supervisor, Primm, were amazing and went out of their way to help people and accommodate everyone to have a lovely stay. We were very impressed with their efforts. The location is stellar here and that was key for us. We rode our bikes and walked everywhere. The mosquitoes are quite crazy right now in the wetlands- supposedly as bad as they’ve been in 25 years, but this is a regional thing- this has nothing to do with the campground. The bathroom and shower house were VERY clean and a level up from what we’ve been used to at other spots along our 3 month long Canada roadtrip. Check out the Eat Pure Mountain Market in town- amazing! As well as the Farmer’s Market on Wednesday. While it’s not fancy camping by any means, the host’s graciousness and efforts to ensure a lovely stay were above and beyond. As the website suggest, I would recommend earplugs or small sound machine or white noise at night as I did hear the trains 2 out of the 5 nights we stayed there- I’m quite a lite sleeper and for some reason they didn’t keep me awake at all. Enjoy your stay! Bring bug spray! Oh and there’s great Paddleboarding, mtn biking, and hiking nearby. We also went on a farm tour at the owners of Eat Pure mtn market- highly recommend as well!

Great spot in Golden on the river. We used an unserviced pull through. We are 37 feet plus a tow vehicle and was easy fit. Some great paths and walks locally. Trains pass along the river hopefully they create minimal noise. Easy access big rig friendly and a variety of campsite options.
