Golden Pine RV Park

Overview

Golden Pine RV Park offers a classic Eastern Sierra camping experience tucked within the scenic June Lake Loop. Unlike the larger, more commercial resorts in nearby Mammoth Lakes, this park maintains a quiet, rustic charm that prioritizes the natural beauty of the surrounding forest. It serves as a peaceful basecamp for those looking to explore the jagged peaks and alpine waters of the High Sierra. The park provides a genuine escape into the high-altitude landscape of Mono County, offering a serene atmosphere for every visitor.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the heart of June Lake, California, the park is surrounded by lofty Jeffrey pines and quaking aspens. The location on the loop road provides easy access to the local village, yet it feels secluded enough to offer a true mountain getaway. Travelers will appreciate being within walking distance of Gull Lake, where the morning mist often settles over the water against a backdrop of sheer granite cliffs and towering mountain peaks. The air is crisp, and the scenery changes beautifully with the seasons.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed to accommodate various rig sizes with full hookup sites that provide the essentials for a comfortable mountain stay. Each site is equipped with the following features to ensure a smooth camping experience:

  • Water, sewer, and 30/50-amp electrical service
  • A personal picnic table and fire ring for evening campfires
  • Access to clean restrooms and hot showers
  • Convenient on-site laundry facilities

The level sites and gravel pads help simplify the setup process for motorhomes and travel trailers alike. While the park maintains a rustic vibe, wireless internet is available for those who need to stay connected.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find no shortage of activities, as the park sits near four major lakes: June, Gull, Silver, and Grant. Trout fishing is a primary draw for the region, with local marinas offering boat rentals and professional guide services. Hikers can access the Reversed Peak Trail or take a short drive to the eastern entrance of Yosemite National Park via Tioga Pass. Additionally, the unique salt tufa towers of Mono Lake are just a fifteen-minute drive to the north, offering incredible photography opportunities.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is ideal for outdoor adventurers and families who prefer a relaxed, traditional RV experience over a high-activity commercial resort. It is a fantastic choice for anglers and hikers who want to be minutes away from scenic trailheads and boat ramps. If you are looking for a tranquil spot to enjoy the Eastern Sierra's natural beauty while still having the convenience of modern utilities, this park fits your travel style perfectly. It is a haven for those who appreciate mountain silence and starry nights.

Traveling through the June Lake area and many campsites were closed for the season. This park and campsite was exactly what we needed. It’s a great family-run site with amazing lake access, clean and well-kept grounds, and modern amenities we needed after a week of travel, including a very nice hot shower. They also include a station for washing the fish you catch at the lake. The hospitality of the staff was warm and welcoming. Alex checked us in and was very friendly and informative. We will definitely be returning.

A lovely family owned business. Staff were incredibly kind and hospitable. Beautiful location with lots of amenities. Close to the lake and all the fun small town activities that June Lake has to offer.

Stayed here for a few nights. The camp host was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The location is great for getting into town or walking to the couple of shops and restaurants and such in June Lake. But you are definitely in a gravel lot in town and not in the woods iron the lake so make sure that’s what you are okay with. The space is small, and while the WiFi is very solid some of the other amenities are middling. For example the hot tub is hard to use (super heavy weird lid takes three people to move) and the sauna was not working.

Love this campground! Quiet and very well maintained! Both Alex and Nando are excellent host and ALWAYS very friendly and helpful! Bathrooms are spotless and the extra amenities are appreciated! The campground is very dog friendly which is important for us that travel with our dogs all the time!!' Cant wait to come back again! Definitely our favorite campground!

This is the absolute IDEAL spot for RV Camping in June Lake, in my humble opinion. It has all the necessary hookups you’d hope from for your RV/camper. It’s not a large campground, but the spaces are very big for any size camper you are bringing. In addition, the on-site amenities are top notch - large showers, game/relaxation room, spa, sauna - the list goes on. Right on the border of camping vs. glamping, which was perfect for our family of 4. All the amenities were kept in excellent working condition. Large showers were an awesome touch. There are walking trails right nearby, and June Lake Beach is a short drive away. There is also a playground close by if you’re bringing the kiddos. Ice cream, general store, brewery, and all food options all a short walk into town. Alex, the site manager, went above and beyond to exceed all expectations and ensure our stay was pleasant. He was so kind and patient, meeting all requests swiftly. When traveling back to June Lake, we will only be going back to Golden Pine. Thank you for a magnificent stay!
