We had a great experience at this park. We were getting in very late and we were able to call ahead, verify availability, and let them know we were coming late. Steve was extremely helpful and gave us all the information that we needed to kno, to get right to our spot, late at night, in the dark. We called him when we got there and he came right over, took our payment and made sure we were good to go. We left early in the morning so I didn't really get to look around, but from what I saw that night in the rain it looked like a nice place. It was quiet and I would definitely not have any hesitation to stay there again. Since it was dark I didn't take any pics.

Stayed one night during a trip from the East Coast to Denver, CO. Website wasn't working at the time, so i called the phone number. Spoke with Steve, the manager, who gave me a reservation for a tent site with water and electricity for a very fair price. Was looking to stay at the nearby state park, which required purchasing a car-entrance pass, and paying an online booking fee, on top of the tent site fee. Blue Heron was a much better deal and Steve was so kind and helpful. Upon arrival, he greeted us, gave us our pick of tent sites and showed us around. The campground is small but tidy and quiet. There was minimal road and train noise during the night from nearby I-80. Bathrooms were clean with plenty of paper products and soap. The town of Gothenburg is super cute. We ate at a locally owned restaurant for dinner, which Steve recommended. Nothing fancy, which was perfect for our purposes, but good food and friendly service. We walked from downtown to the little park/arboretum where the Pony Express Station was. Cute playground and informative signs about the history of the town. Steve greeted us as we were packing in the morning and made sure we had a good night, which we did. Will stay here again when next we make the trip either way. Great little campground at a fair price with friendly staff. Thanks Blue Heron!

Stayed twice now and it has nice grounds and easy pull through full hook up spots. Definitely the highlight of the stay though is Steve the camp host. So polite and accommodating. Comes out to check and see how you like your site and even if you need any help hooking up or anything and that all hook ups are working well for you. A genuinely kind man. Definitely will be staying again.

We stayed one night on a cross country trip. Easy convenience off i80, but also lots of vegetation to block out noise. Steve the manager was very kind, helpful, and accommodating. Cabins were nice, sleep 4, only one electrical outlet. Cheap tent site prices and good grass for tents. Bathrooms do have some bugs and webs, but not so bad to skip a shower. Kids loved catching fireflies. Oh and don't be fooled by the map pictures, there's no pool anymore.

A quaint, quiet, nicely shaded campsite right off the I 80. Steve, the manager was very pleasant and welcoming. I definitely recommend stopping here if you’re traveling through this part of Nebraska.

Overall great experience. Called the campground explaining that we are going to get in very late and there was a key left in the cabin door and the porch light on. Cabins are very simple. Only have one twin size bed and two single beds( bunk bed (. Very quiet campground and very clean. I would only suggest that they would put a trash can next to the cabins. Also rated it four stars because it would be nice to have at least a small microwave and maybe small coffee maker in the cabin. Would definitely stay here again although cabins or maybe a little bit pricey. I felt like they should be at least $10 a night cheaper based on the simplicity of them.

Our stay here was perfect. We booked a camping cabin the day before. There was a note online that they may change your site number, which did end up happening. I called the phone number on the site to clarify 2 vehicles were ok, and the camp host Steve called me back shortly to say yes. He asked if we could stay in Cabin 3 instead of 1, which was fine with us. Cabin 3 was great. Former KOA campground I believe, so standard bed and 2 bunks inside with mini heater and AC. Crank windows to let the breeze come through. Porch swing and plenty of parking space. Large area behind cabin to let our dog explore on leash- just watch out for ticks in the talk grass, we found 1. Sitting area and fire pit outside. No water spicket nearby but short walk to bathrooms. It was quiet and we slept great Bathrooms were clean with toilets and showers and sinks. Could use a deep clean in the showers but nothing too bad. Bonus was the ability for my husband to go for a long run on the gravel road that loops around the camp parallel to the freeway, thanks to Steve's recommendation. Would definitely stay again!

Loved this place! Blue Heron really feels like camping. I pulled in with my RV and was so happy to see it wasn’t the typical RV park setup where you’re packed in like a parking lot. The sites are nicely spaced out, surrounded by trees, and give off that true camping vibe. Peaceful, quiet, and just the right amount of rustic—exactly what I was looking for. Will definitely be back!

My husband and I are on a road trip and have been camping for several days. We found the camp on google and we decided to rent a cabin. We called ahead of time to let the manager, Steve, know we would be arriving late. He turned on the porch light for us and turned on the AC on in the cabin so it was nice and cool when we arrived. Lots of space for our pups to explore. This campground is very dog friendly which is so nice to find nowadays. There is a small dog park right outside of the entrance that we could run them in after being in the car all day. Bathrooms and showers are clean and easily accessible. You need to bring some sort of bedding but we had everything we needed. Beds were comfy and cabin was clean. Steve was very kind and came to check on us in the morning and make sure all was good. It is close to the highway but very quiet. We had a lovely night of watching the stars and fireflies, and listening to the crickets and owls. We even played tether ball that was next to a small playground close to our cabin. It was a lovely break we desperately needed. If we ever return to this part of the country we will be stopping here every time.

Easy access of the highway. Nice pull-thrus, big enough for our Class A towing a car. Not too busy on a Friday in Oct. Quiet overnight. Looks like an older park that needs a little TLC so I’d call it overpriced, but we were able to pick our spot and check ourselves in over their website. Overall, good stop.

We've camped here twice they take reservations on line or by phone, no one is in the office. Gravel pads, electric, water hook up, some are full hook ups. Play ground, nice rest rooms and showers, laundry I did not use it though. The pool was not in use when we were there in August. Nice clean place and quiet at night.
