Goulding's Monument Valley Campground & RV Park

We stayed at the RV park. Staff were super friendly, and helpful. Park was average. This whole facility is now owned by the Navajo people. Reason enough for us to stay there. We took a tour of Monument Valley, and although many tour companies exist, only Goulding's pucks up right at the RV park. It was Phenomenal. I highly recommend Goulding's.

What an amazing experience we had staying at the Goulding’s RV Park. It all started at the time of checkin. We had planned on spending 2 nights but decided to try and extend 1 more night. We will have to move you to space # 34. That’s fine, then when we get to that location, it’s the best seat in the house with beautiful views of Monument Valley looking through to window of the surrounding cliffs. Now on the afternoon of day 3 after returning from driving the valley, we stopped by the office wanting to extend 2 more nights, no problem, you want the same space? Yes absolutely please. The staff is kind, friendly, and so willing to help. The park is well maintained as is the rest of the Goulding’s properties. One must have dinner at the Lodge’s Stagecoach restaurant while watching the sunset, and tour the museum next door. Oh, and don’t forget the John Wayne Cabin. I don’t know that it’s hidden, but it’s a gem.

Stayed in a cabin at Gouldings RV Park. It was advertised as having a double bed, bunk beds and a loft bed. In fact, the loft was unusable by an adult (very low headroom) and if you used the ladder to climb up, it blocked the futon pulling out into the “double bed” (which was significantly smaller than a double and hard as a rock). The bunk beds were not full twin-sized (more like cot-size) and the only way to access the upper bunk was the ladder for the loft which stretched across the whole cabin, blocked the futon and also blocked access to the kitchen and bathroom. Terrible layout and not as advertised. Spent two extremely uncomfortable nights there. On the other hand it was a beautiful location. Our friends noted the lack of level RV spots. Not our favorite location on a 2-week trip through Utah parks.

We were able to make last minute reservations the last week of September for Gouldings campground and lucked out with an end site with a view! The people working there were very nice and the full hookups appreciated. We ended up staying an extra night and were able to get a different spot. The campground is quiet and clean. We used the laundry which was clean with multiple washers and dryers. We didn’t use the pool or anything else but people/ kids seemed to enjoy it all. You can also book tours that leave right from the campground . Monument Valley Visitors Center is literally 4 miles down the road. From there you book multiple tours, go on a hike, tour the museum, get food or just stand at the observation area and see the beautiful formations and a spectacular sunset. If you want full hookups and be away from the touristy madness yet very close to it all, I highly recommend Gouldings!

This is our second visit to Gouldings, our first time here was during Covid and the Navajo Nation was closed. So we came back. Gouldings Campground is a smallish RV resort in a canyon. This is the prettiest RV Resort we have ever been to. We have a 41 foot 5th wheel and are in site #48. It was easy access getting in, getting out is yet to be seen. We did the tour of Monument Valley narrator and guide was Billy, he did a great job, his dry sense of humor was fun. It was $90 per adult, a little pricy. But I learned a lot about Native Americans culture. We also toured (self) Valley of the Gods about 30 miles. It was a slow speed 17 mile tour. It was beautiful, as beautiful as Monument Valley.
