RV Park

Overview

Overview

Grand Canyon Caverns RV Park & Campground offers a unique desert experience located directly on the historic Route 66 in Peach Springs, Arizona. This destination serves as a rugged base camp for travelers looking to explore the natural wonders of the American Southwest. The park features a blend of RV sites and tent camping options, providing a convenient stopover for those traversing the long stretches of Northern Arizona. Guests often appreciate the remote, quiet atmosphere that defines this classic roadside attraction.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the heart of the Hualapai Indian Reservation, the park is surrounded by expansive high-desert landscapes. The location provides easy access to vast open spaces and breathtaking sunsets, making it a favorite for photographers and stargazers. Because it sits along the iconic Route 66 corridor, travelers can easily soak in the vintage Americana charm of the area while being perfectly positioned to head toward either the Grand Canyon or other regional landmarks in the nearby mountain ranges.

Amenities & Park Features

The campground provides essential facilities to ensure a comfortable stay in the remote Arizona desert. Visitors have access to full hookup sites that accommodate a variety of rig sizes, alongside pull-through options for ease of arrival. Basic site amenities include picnic tables, pet-friendly areas, and communal showers. While the setting is intentionally simple to match the surrounding wilderness, the park is designed to serve as a reliable resting point for long-haul travelers needing a quiet place to recharge.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The crown jewel of the property is the Grand Canyon Caverns, an extensive cave system accessible via guided tours right on-site. Beyond the underground exploration, the park acts as a gateway to the Hualapai tribal lands. Visitors often spend their days exploring historic Route 66 sites, visiting the local canyon rim viewpoints, or taking day trips to the Skywalk at Grand Canyon West. The area is also ideal for those interested in geological history and authentic Native American culture.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an excellent fit for road-trippers and RV enthusiasts who value unique, history-rich locations over resort-style luxury. It appeals primarily to those traveling through Northern Arizona who want to wake up near a major geological attraction without the crowds of a national park. If you prefer a rustic, quiet environment that offers quick access to underground adventure and scenic desert drives, this site provides the ideal backdrop for your desert journey.

My second visit and enjoyed the caverns both times. Have lunch in the cavern restaurant, 210 feet below ground.

This campground has nothing special in views, facilities, or pricing. It's a plain, decent workaday campground. Portapotties, water, power (although the power was being redone when we stayed). The sites are well-spaced and fairly flat, with lots of pinion/juniper trees interspersed. Access road is old pavement, and the entire campground is gravel/dirt. We couldn't vouch for the restaurants or the tours, because the power refurbish had nearly everything shut down. The staff was great, except for one curmudgeon who played hooky during the charm school training.

Super friendly staff, beautiful desert setting with restaurant, very clean with garbage bins every 50' or so and reasonably level gravel sites. Lighting leading to and on the campground is non existent and extremely hard to navigate in the dark. Dump station is off site behind the gas station by the highway. We stayed there one night in a power and water site and will stay there again when in the area.

I didn’t see the caves but the campground was great and every employee I talked to was very nice and helpful. The campground bathroom and showers are great. I was able to charge my EV which is what made this trip to Supai even possible for me. Even the restaurant is nicer than what I was expecting. I got the feeling that whoever manages this place really cares about the guest experience.
