We have been coming here for 5 years and love it. It's a more chill atmosphere compared to provincial parks. The beach is awesome with a picturesque lake view. You can also ride your atvs or dirt bikes right from your site to nearby trails down the road.

I wholeheartedly recommend that you avoid this campsite. While the site itself is mediocre, Jim, the alleged owner, is enough to ruin your stay. 1. When we first reached the site, Jim assaulted a member of our group. Apparently he was upset at a previous group and felt it appropriate to take out his frustration on our group. The cause for this: we were looking for the check-in area, since it wasn't clearly marked and he thought that we were trespassing (despite explaining that we had a reservation). 2. After assaulting our group, Jim extorted $40 from us if we wanted to stay at the site that we had already paid for. 3. Despite booking (and receiving confirmation for) 2 sites, we were only given one. The site hasn't recognized that they gave away one of our bookings. The group next to ours explained that they had a similar experience - half of their group wasn't allowed on the site at first, despite being in the booking. 4. The rules are applied inconsistently. Jim was very quick to threaten us for "racing" (driving 15 in a 10 zone) but totally failed to respect the rules himself (he was going at least 50 on his ATV) or to enforce them for neighbouring sites (fires after hours, screaming matches from 1-4am). He also felt that it was appropriate to have us stand in an open area during a thunderstorm to sort our garbage. There are also some basic issues with the site itself: 1. There's no privacy (the sites are separated by rocks, not trees). 2. There's no drinking water (despite the office assuring us that there is). 3. There is no bear-safe garbage disposal. Garbage is removed from your site at 5pm, and if you miss it (or eat dinner after 5pm), then you need to keep your garbage in your car. If you're looking at booking this site, it's probably because all of the provincial parks are fully booked. There's a very good reason why this site is still available.

Great place to relax and enjoy nature, go for nature hikes, camping and the beach.

We blew the motor in our motorhome on our way to this campground. The owners were very accommodating letting us come with our tent on the rv site that was non refundable. The washrooms were closed but the outhouses were the cleanest we have ever experienced in over 30 years of travelling. The owner pumps them out himself rather than using a service and it shows how on - site maintenance makes a real difference. The recycling rules are strict and the hardwood is wet. The softwood is better. The beach is really nice and we appreciated the dog beach.

I am writing this review to help people avoid a terrible weekend full of threats, verbal abuse, and discomfort for what is a very expensive Camp Ground. Upon arriving at the camp site, we were immediately kicked off for not checking in and verbally harassed, yelled at, and threatened in front of other guests. We were aimlessly looking for the check-in and asked other camp goers, who directed us to the beach. The signage is extremely unclear and not visible from your car. Ultimately, we were threatened to be kicked out before the other 6 of our guests even arrived, after paying over 500 dollars and driving 4+ hours and were charged an arbitrary fee. (we did not get a receipt for this fee) I wish this was the worst of our experience. The owners admitted that it was “bad timing”. That is not our responsibility, and that is part of managing a camp site. You cannot take that out on paying customers. In addition, there were no hand washing stations (during the middle of a pandemic), no running water (someone helped us who had a trailer), wet over-priced wood, and VERY arbitrary rules that were NOT enforced, such as quiet hours, music turned off hours. We booked 2 camp sites and were only given one, and we were not refunded. DO NOT GO HERE. Save your time and money.

Mine experience there was awesome, the owners Nancy and Jim are very friendly. We share our stories with each other and I have no complaint. We stayed 2 nights at the campground. Lake and water are beautiful!

This was our first visit here. We had a travel trailer. Sites had easy access and were all pull through. Site amenities were clean and worked without issue. Electrical and water both had no issues. Sewage is on some sites or a main drain in the park. Public showers and toilets were clean and functioning. Beach was beautiful, freshly raked and all sand. Great swimming with shallow entrance for kids and playing. The sites each had a tree or two for some added shade. Garbage was picked up nightly. Park was kept clean. Very impressed and hope to be back next year.

So my experience at Granite ridge campground was pretty sweet. My self and 4 buddies stayed here may 24th long weekend for atving the west algonquin ATV trails the day after they opened and the park is clean and quiet. Not that busy. They were still setting up the park and dealing with the spring flooding. Amazing job dealing with campers and everything. Definitely a 5 star in my opinion. Probably come here in the warmer weather.

Nice place to go camping and do a little fishing. Nights can get cold so don't forget your warm sleeping bag. The owner is super nice and the facilities are clean.
