Beautiful campground. Well spaced sites. Unfortunately pit toilets need attention and no one is cleaning sites.

This campground was recently renovated to the perfect condition. The driveway entering each site paved with asphalt. The table, fireplace, and grill area also paved with concrete. My site #22 provides a clear and spectacular view of Wheeler Peak.

Campground is great. Several sites can accomodate a 20+ ft trailer, but most are short. But be careful at the parking lot. Even at 10k ft elevation, a wild Methany will appear, wiping her hands all over your car and peeping into your windows. Hide your gear! As at all Nat Parks, do not approach, provoke, or feed the wildlife.

Took these photos last fall while the campground was being updated for anyone to see what most spaces look like. Each photo has a space number associated with it.

Great campground. First come first serve. We paid $20/night and we stayed Monday-Thursday (the end of June). The campground wasn’t busy. We got lucky with our spot as there was a creek right next to us. We saw deer walking by every day. Lots of bugs, so bring the bug spray. There are a lot of hiking trails nearby so you don’t even need to drive anywhere. ! Expect to have no cell service or maybe a bar. Also, be careful with the altitude sickness. I would recommend to spend several days at the campground (doing small hikes, e.g. to the lakes) before doing the Wheeler Peak hike.

What a wonderful campground at 10,000 feet. Nestled amongst the pines and aspen this campground is super scenic. Each spot has a paves parking spot and a picnic table and fire ring.

This is another excellent campground located within Great Basin National Park. Here, we had spot number 18 for two nights. We liked the seclusion of this site, as we hardly noticed anyone else around us. The views in the campground are gorgeous, and you have easy access to all kinds of hiking trails.

We stayed at a lower elevation campground but drove up and checked out Wheeler Peak Campground. Much like Upper Lehman Campground where we're camping, there's out house style bathrooms, no sinks, and in August 2022, there's water spigots, but NO water, potable or other. The road running through the camp looks brand new and is in excellent condition. It's mid August, and Wheeler Peak Campground, at its higher elevation, above 10,000', is much cooler than the lower elevation campgrounds.

This is a beautiful campground but there is no way of making a reservation. I live 5 hours away and I am only off during weekends. I have tried to visit this campground twice and has not found a spot. 2nd time I brought my kids with me and no sites available. We had to drive back the same day. I wish they would do something to address this.

Amazing view! Very clean campground. Self serving. Cesspool. Tasty water. Beautiful forest. Deers are walking right between your tent. 🦌✨

I've been here many times, and never been disappointed. Spectacular views, great hiking trails, and no crowds. I'm glad it's not promoted more by the Park Service, because it's a perfect spot as is.
