Beautiful lake beach. We got our reservation online a couple of days ahead but there was no line to get in. We got here around 2pm and spent and hr swimming. This place has everything you could need. It has clean bathrooms, clear water, lifeguards, stocked lake, concession stands, amazing views. We will definitely be back.

It was our first time here and we were very impressed at the facilities offered, tables and grills were everywhere, bathrooms were clean, beach and water were clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. Dogs are allowed in the park, leashed, but not on the beaches between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

We recently visited Greenbrier State Park with the family and had an amazing time—both for a fun-filled day and an overnight camping experience. This park is a gem tucked away in Western Maryland, and it’s perfect for nature lovers, families, and weekend getaways. Nature & Trails: The hiking trails are well-marked and suitable for all ages. Our kids enjoyed the short loops, and the forest scenery was peaceful and refreshing. Great for light adventure and stretching your legs. Camping: We camped for 2 nights and were really impressed. The campground is clean, spacious, and well-organized. There are 4 camping loops, and Loop D is pet-friendly (a great bonus for those traveling with dogs). Each site had a fire ring and picnic table, and the loops had easy access to restrooms and water. Quiet hours were respected, and it felt very family-friendly and safe. Lake & Beach: The lake is clean and calm, with a sandy beach area that’s perfect for swimming and relaxing. While pets are not allowed in the lake or beach area, there’s a large lawn above the lake where dogs can play or rest. Lifeguards were on duty, and it felt secure for kids to splash around. Picnic & Facilities: There are great picnic spots with tables and grills, many shaded by trees. Bathrooms and changing areas were clean and conveniently located. Everything felt well-maintained and thoughtful for families. Important Tip: If you’re planning a day visit on weekends between Memorial Day and Labor Day, make sure to reserve a Day-Use pass online in advance, as it does fill up quickly during peak season.

Great campground pet friendly. It was only $35.00 for a site with power. The dump station is near the main entrance, which is easy to locate. Campground has lots of hills, some really steep. The lake was cold and amazing. My family and I had a great time at the lake and walking the trails.

This is a huge park, great for camping, hiking, walking, beach relaxing and more. Be aware: constructions are currently going on at different places of the park including the main entrance. After the constructions are completed, the park will start to request campers or day visitors to make reservations online during holidays and weekends visitors. Atmosphere: it’s a large park filled with nature’s love, trees, water, birds, logs, dirt paths, bugs, wildlife, fresh air and tables benches roads for visitors. Service: staff in the visitors’ center are friendly and knowledgeable. Value: you cannot put a price tag on your love of nature and experience of outdoors. Parking: there is no issue to find parkings inside the park, just depending on how far you are willing to walk. Beautiful park, highly recommend.

This a charming little state park not much more than an hours drive from DC. It's a small lake that gets crowded in the summer, but I really enjoyed visiting in the fall to enjoy the colors. The park offers camping, hiking, swimming, fishing, and boating activities. There are numerous other Maryland state parks in the vicinity, so you can have a great day-trip or weekend getaway.

Beautiful and very clean lake! Perfect for a day trip or longer if you want to camp. During the summer time they get very crowded and often fill to capacity within a few hours of opening. I would usually go in the evenings if they reopened. There are many places to grill with picnics tables. A boat ramp. Concession stands and boat rentals are open during the summer. Daily entrance fees vary. Campsites are around $30 or less. Overall a great place for all.

It was a nice experience Completed my summer bucket list. However it was a bit packed and it is a place you want to come to as early as possible. The water was not blue as I expected but still pretty clean and clear. Nice white sand perhaps nicer than Ocean city Beach. Great place for families with children. Lifeguards on duty. Shallow swim area perfect for children.

The park is very nice, we went on a weekday and there were not many people but on weekends you have to go early because they allow a limited number to enter. There are many tables and grills. The beach is very nice and clean. Ideal for children, they have lifeguards and a Kiosk. The bathrooms have showers and changing areas. They charge $5 per person if you are from Maryland and $7 out of state. In conclusion, very nice and pleasant to spend the day

Large, pleasant and relaxing park. I really liked the peacefulness of the area, the beach by the lake, the mini hiking in the forest, the walking tour of the lake, the beach and the bird calls as the only surrounding noise in some spots. I’d have loved to encounter a black bear 🤪
