Overview

Grenville Park Camping & RV Park offers a scenic escape along the banks of the majestic St. Lawrence River. As a family-owned destination with a long history in the Johnstown community, the park emphasizes a relaxed, community-oriented atmosphere. Visitors find themselves surrounded by mature trees and manicured grounds that create a sense of seclusion while remaining easily accessible for large rigs. It serves as a premier waterfront resort for those seeking both recreation and tranquility during their travels through Eastern Ontario.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in Johnstown, Ontario, just minutes from the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge, the park is perfectly positioned for travelers moving between Canada and the United States. The property overlooks the St. Lawrence shipping channel, providing guests with a front-row seat to massive international vessels passing by. The surrounding landscape is defined by the lush greenery of the region and the sparkling blue waters that lead toward the famous Thousand Islands region, which is located just a short drive to the west.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is well-equipped to handle modern RVers with a variety of site options, including many with full hookups and ample space for slide-outs. Guests can enjoy the following features during their stay:

  • A private sandy beach and dedicated swimming area on the river.
  • An outdoor swimming pool and sun deck for summer relaxation.
  • An on-site boat launch with convenient docking slips for motorized craft.

Clean washroom facilities and a recreation hall ensure that guests have all the comforts of home while enjoying the great outdoors.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

History enthusiasts will appreciate being close to Fort Wellington National Historic Site in neighboring Prescott, where 19th-century military life comes to life. Nature lovers can explore the nearby waterfront trails or take a scenic drive along the parkway. Watching the ocean-going vessels navigate the river is a popular pastime for everyone. For a more urban excursion, the shops and restaurants of Brockville and the various boat tours of the 1000 Islands are within very easy reach.

I called to extend our stay for an extra day, which was the confirmed was available. The office manager Krystal was very un-cooperative, (she should not be in customer service) We had 2 sites reserved and she cancelled both sites and hung up on me. Also they never answer their phone. Don't waste your time go elsewhere!!!!

This campground is in a wonderful location, but I was surprised to find out that I needed to leave a $20 deposit for a fob in order to get in the campground after hours. Also, the showers cost $1 for five minutes. This was a bit if a surprise. We had a lovely view of the bridge and water to splash in. I will be going back again.

we have spent 3 summer getaways here. This summer we planned a 4 night getaway and reservation was excepted. How ever my spouse called and asked about bringing a electric golf cart do to disability. I sent an email asking why we were not allowed to have this. krystal the office manager got her nose out of joint over this question and cancelled and refunded us our deposit with no reason. i repeatedly call her and she was rude and hung up each time. she should not be a manager or work with people . she did this with in days before we left. i booked time off work, i booked our dogs in a kennel. i feel she should be fired.

It is very unfortunate that this park has such terrible management because it has a few really beautiful waterfront transient camp sites. The office manager is very rude, and lacks any sort of customer service skills. Quite a few disappointments this weekend also... The website states "boat in pontoon paddleboats, canoes and kayaks…" but they do not have rentals. The office told us they mean you can bring your own. The amount of goose poop everywhere was ridiculous. I know it's out of their control, but there didn't seem to be anyone making efforts to clean up. The sites are also over priced considering how narrow and open they are, no privacy at all. And the gravel sites are literally a parking lot. The showers are coin operated and expensive, and the bathrooms were not very clean. Unfortunately we won't be returning.

We've been seasonal campers at Grenville Park Camping and RV Park for two years now, and it has been an absolutely fantastic experience! The park is beautifully maintained, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and excellent amenities. The staff is incredibly friendly and always ready to help, making every visit enjoyable and stress-free. The community of campers here is wonderful, and we've made some great friends over the past two years. The park’s activities and events are always well-organized and fun, adding to the overall fantastic atmosphere. The location is also perfect for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy some peace and tranquility. We couldn’t be happier with our choice to camp here and look forward to many more seasons at Grenville Park. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch camping experience!
