I am writing to formally express my deep concern and disappointment regarding an incident that occurred during my family's recent stay at your Fort Myers Beach location from Monday, April 28 to Friday, May 2. Over the past two months, my family and I have stayed at multiple Sun Retreats locations—including Jacksonville, Key Largo, and Fort Myers—each for several days. We've returned to Sun Retreats repeatedly due to the friendly environment and welcoming staff. In fact, we have been seriously considering purchasing a vacation home at the Fort Myers location due to its proximity to our boat club and the community of friends and family we have in the area. Unfortunately, this most recent stay was marred by a troubling and unprofessional encounter with the on-site manager, Felisha. On the night of Tuesday, April 29 at 9:09 PM, I called the number listed on the restroom door after we were unable to access the facilities. I left a voicemail and returned to our site. Approximately an hour later, a woman—later identified as Felisha—approached our site in a visibly hostile manner. She did not initially identify herself but was upset that we had a single store-bought log burning in our covered fire pit. The fire had been going for some time without issue, and once she expressed her concern, my husband and his cousin immediately extinguished it. When I asked for clarification on her role and how to access the facilities, Felisha mentioned an email and app we had never received. The email in question did not arrive until later that evening, long after the incident. Her demeanor was aggressive, and despite our efforts to be cooperative and respectful, the interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational. The following day, Wednesday, went smoothly without incident. On Thursday, my husband extended our stay in person at the office without any issue. I also visited the office to inquire about laundry supplies, again without any mention of a problem. That evening, however, Felisha called my husband to the office and informed him we were banned from all Sun Retreats properties. This came as a complete shock. She cited a “rude message” I allegedly left (which I believe can and should be reviewed) and claimed I failed to apologize the following morning—though I was never told there was an issue requiring one. Furthermore, our site was directly in front of the office, and I was present throughout the day without being approached. This decision was made without due explanation, without an opportunity for us to respond, and without any formal communication. Felisha's behavior was not only unprofessional but humiliating. It stands in stark contrast to the otherwise positive experiences we’ve had with Sun Retreats staff at other locations. I have documentation, including photos and video from the evening in question, and I would be happy to provide this for review. I also have contact information for witnesses who are willing to corroborate our experience. We value community, professionalism, and safety above all. We do not understand why we were treated this way.

Stayed in an RV site. Nice older park with some post hurricane updates. Sites may not fit the biggest rigs. A lot of long time and full-time residents. Very reasonable short-term stay rates. South half of the park is primarily RVs, north side of the park is closer to a 50/50 split between RV sites and permanent trailers/park models. Overall a pleasant experience but not a park we will most likely stay in for more than a week or two.

I’d say around 1/3 of this park are tiny homes/small double wides. The other 2/3 are RV lots. We stayed in our RV. This is a great community. Everyone is super friendly. Staff, home owners and guests. Super clean grounds. Quiet atmosphere. Very dog friendly. Excellent dog park and walking areas. People actually clean up after their pets here, unlike a lot of places we’ve camped. Highly recommend this campground to RVers and anyone looking for a nice retirement/snowbird home for a reasonable price in an excellent area.

I have been a 7/5 resident at the Sun Retreats Fort Myers Beach for over 15 years. This park is more than an rv park it’s a community. We have had six managers during my time. Mrs. Campbell the current manager is by far the best that we have had in my 15 years. She’s made a remarkable difference and improvement in her short time. The park looks great as it nears the completion of its renovation after hurricane Ian. I give it and Mrs. Campbell 5 stars.
