Gull Rock Lake Lodge

Overview

Gull Rock Lake Lodge offers a classic Northwestern Ontario wilderness experience, situated on the prolific waters of Gull Rock Lake. This family-owned destination is designed for those who want to escape the hustle of city life and immerse themselves in the rugged beauty of the Boreal forest. While many visitors choose the cozy cabins, the park provides dedicated RV sites that allow travelers to bring their own home into the heart of the Canadian Shield. It is a place where the sounds of loons replace traffic and the focus remains firmly on the great outdoors and the simple pleasures of lakeside living.

Location & Surroundings

Nestled near the legendary town of Red Lake, Ontario, the lodge sits at the northern end of Highway 105. The surrounding landscape is a breathtaking mix of ancient rock formations, dense pine forests, and interconnected waterways. Being positioned directly on Gull Rock Lake provides guests with immediate access to a massive chain of lakes, ensuring that every sunrise offers a new vista to explore. The remote nature of the site means minimal light pollution, making the area perfect for viewing the Northern Lights on clear nights throughout the season.

Amenities & Park Features

The lodge provides full-service RV sites equipped with 30-amp electricity and water connections. Guests benefit from several convenient on-site features designed for the sporting life:

  • A professional fish cleaning house with ample freezer space.
  • Dedicated boat docking and reliable motor rentals.
  • Clean central shower facilities and guest laundry services.
These amenities ensure a high level of comfort during longer stays while keeping the focus on the outdoor experience. For those traveling without their own vessel, the lodge offers boat and motor rentals, allowing every RVer the chance to navigate the productive fishing grounds located just steps from their campsite.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Fishing is the primary draw here, with the lake being renowned for trophy Walleye and Northern Pike. Beyond the water, the nearby town of Red Lake offers the Heritage Centre, which showcases the region’s rich gold mining and aviation history. Nature enthusiasts can spend their days birdwatching or hiking through the surrounding crown land. For a unique perspective of the wilderness, local outfitters provide flightseeing tours that reveal the staggering scale of the Ontario backcountry from the window of a floatplane.

Who This Park Is Best For

This lodge is ideal for passionate anglers and families seeking a quiet, unplugged vacation in the deep north. It caters to travelers who prefer a rustic and authentic atmosphere over a manicured urban resort setting. If you enjoy waking up to the smell of pine needles and spending your days on the water, this is the perfect northern destination. It is best suited for those with mid-sized RVs looking for a secure, friendly home base while exploring one of Canada’s most legendary fishing corridors.

Traveling in our Sprinter an and found a lovely place for 2 day layover at Gullrock Lake Lodge & campground. What a beautiful hideaway and lovely play Ce to stay. Pleased with our site and the owners could not be more accommodating. Great shower & laundry facility when needed and beautiful dock to fish from if you don’t have a boat. You can rent one. We will be back in a week for 2 more days on our way out.

The fishing is incredible, and so are the people. Maintenance is diligent, and kindness is common. Thanks for the great week, and a shoutout to Hughie for keeping the place absolutely pristine!

Absolutely the best place to come fish and make great lifetime friends. Clean and well kept landscaping, RV spots and cabins, beautiful family owned and operated. Would not go any where else! 💕

This was my second time coming back and just as amazing as the first time. Thanks again for the hospitality. Looking forward to coming up next year. Hugh and Ashley are fantastic hosts. Fishing was first class and the view from my rented camper was awesome. Definitely be back. Thanks again!
