I have been coming up to Gunflint pines resort over 25 years First with close friends and then my 2 girls were tired of me telling them what a wonderful place it is. So I brought them up here and the visits continue We made the 11th year last month and many friends and family join us. We cannot say enough about how great all of our stays were. Sherrie and Sandy are amazing. Especially with all the extras they do for us. My rabbit sits on my couch and a smile comes out whenever I see it. I hope I can make many more trips to Gunflint and wherever I can no longer be able my girls and family and friends will keep coming. Thanks for everything. Luv Bunny and all the Bunnies too

We stayed in camper cabin 20, with room for 6. Very clean. Dogs are allowed. A small heater had been left by the owner, in case it got too cold. Overnight it was in the 50's, but plenty warm in the cabin without the heater. Very nice owners, and a well-stocked grocery and convenience store. Wood was available at a reasonable price for use in the firepit or grill. The bathrooms and bathhouse were conveniently located in the center of the camper cabins area. Beautiful area in the northern-most part of Minnesota, and only a short distance to Canada. Enjoyed the stay!!

I stayed at Gunflint Pines Resort w/ my family for a long weekend getaway. We stayed in Cottage 7. While Cottage 7 appeared clean when we first got there, it was obvious that it had a mice issue. There were a few mice droppings on the pillow in the primary room, but that was all we noticed. We were still excited for the weekend, so we brushed it off and changed pillows and moved on. That was until the next night when my mom found more mice droppings in the bathroom and utensil drawer in the kitchen (EW!). Additionally, while she was in the bathroom, an actual mouse sneaked through the bathroom door and ran away. Overall, we had to cut the long weekend short by a day because it was just not sanitary. My dad tried to get reimbursed for the last day (since we were leaving early) and the lady in the main office basically said "Well, its that time of year for mice." ?????? So we were not offered any kind of reimbursement for having to leave early due to unsanitary conditions. I would not recommend Gunflint Pines to people looking to stay in cabins on the Gunflint Trail. While I understand that having mice and other animals can be a problem for places like this, it should be actively addressed because Cottage 7 was truly disgusting. The only reason I gave this resort 1 star is for the location on Gunflint Lake.

I wanted to take my family on a boundary waters trip with some amenities and this place delivered. The only cell carrier that works up there is AT&T and the resort has wifi but it didn't work all the time so don't count on it. But wanted to get away from all that so we didn't care! Great place to stay! Staff was great!

We stayed here in summer of 2021 and I just got prompted for a review for whatever reason. Our vacation didn't get off to a great start because after a really long drive to get here, we arrived late in the day. Our instructions for check-in said if we arrived after the office closing hours to proceed to our campsite and check-in in the morning. So we did just that. We were at our campsite setting up when a woman and a man approached us, and the woman proceeded to yell at us about not checking in, that we just drove right on by and we went the wrong way (we missed the first turn in and took the next one we saw). I tried to explain to her that we followed the instructions that we received via email but she didn't want to hear about it. After yelling at us in front of our 2 small children she walked away. That really soured the rest of the trip for me. We stayed there for 4 days. It was shortly after Memorial Day and there was a bit of a heat wave happening so was hotter than usual. We took out one of the property's canoes, had to dig through a dirty shed/garage attached to the main building for life jackets that would fit us and our kids. At the time you couldn't venture onto the Canadian side so had to stick close to shore. It seemed like they weren't really ready for summer camping season yet. Allegedly they had boats but we were told they weren't operational at the time. It is a beautiful spot but the initial welcoming we got really ruined it for me. Every time we saw her after that, we just tried to avoid her or walk on eggshells around her because of how we were treated. I will say she was friendly enough after the first night and even suggested a trail we could go walk. If we return to the area we will probably stay elsewhere.
