A beautiful drive to a gorgeous wooded campground, the reservoir and miles of offroad trails. Boat rentals at the marina, razor rentals at the outpost. A mountian playground where the bears roam and the fish are biting. Highly reccomend!

Great stay at LGC! First, the scenery is beautiful! At the campground, across the street at the lake, up Cottonwood Pass, up the road to TinCup, and down to Taylor River; all around. Second, the campground itself was just what we needed. Stayed in #9, and it had a flat pad for a tent, ample space next to the raised firepit, picnic table, and we nestled the camper in the pine trees. The bathrooms were throughout our stay, and the hostess was friendly and kept us informed of any possible animal sightings. Had no issues with this campground, other than it is far from KCMO!!

The employees are very kind. Beautiful place to camp. No problems with any of the people there. When I came here it was cold and freezing but I had fun and can see all the wildlife and animals there. I love it here. Would recommend.

Don’t bother with reservations through recreation.gov as it appears other “certain people” as the camp host states, can override the first come first serve reservation restrictions. We reserved slot for the last two days that it allowed reservations with the intent to stay into the first come first serve time only to be kicked out when the “certain people” were allowed to reserve that spot. BTW we went to the reservation site within minutes of it opening reservations only to find they were already reserved. Find it hard to believe people reserved that fast. Camp host could have been more friendly about the whole debacle instead of just telling us “certain people” could reserve, never came to our site before hand although the sign at her site states they would.

Campground is great! But god help you if someone is a “certain person “ because they can reserve a spot that you are occupying under the FF, or First come first served designation. We reserved a slot for the last two days that reservations were allowed, then on the second day we were told by the very rude campground host that we would have to move because someone else had reserved it. I asked how that was possible and she told me that “certain people” could reserve sites beyond the last date. The worst part is, if she had done her job and come to see us, as the signs & info describes, it could have been avoided. And we went to her trailer twice to pay for the additional days & give her our reservation info, but never found her there. Not a great experience!!!
