Smallish campground right on Taylor River. Site 5 was Riverside and has a wonderful shaded, private area in which to hang out/read beside the river. We enjoyed watching numerous rafting groups scoot past us on the river. There is some traffic noise but only the occasional big truck going up the road is really audible above the sound of the river.... Even in August. Bugs were not bad for us. Most of the sites are not level, but we were in a van so no big deal. Friendly camp host. 2 bars TMobile 5G. Lovely cool breeze in the shade. BUT... The road in to the campground is very rough and full off potholes... beware. The pit toilets are the worst we have experienced in our 223 visited campgrounds; they are old, small, dark, fly filled, and STINKY. There is NO water available and no dump station. If in the area again, we would revisit this campground because our site was so nice and we had cell service, but we'd make sure we had lots of water and an empty black tank. Only the site quality allowed this to be 3 stars.

I have stayed here many times and enjoy the close proximity to hiking and river access. Unfortunately, the camp ground is in disrepair and the current host seems to be running a scam. I paid for three nights starting 7/3/25 and on the third night the host showed up saying I owed an additional due for the third night. I should have payed closer attention to what he was doing but trusted he was fair which was my mistake. Always get a receipt or take picture of the log book. He either made a detailed mistake or is scamming people out of their hard earned money. Either way we were not about to pack up at 7pm and relocate. The toilets were disgusting and the water was not running. Go elsewhere.

I haven't smelt bathrooms this bad since Joshua tree. This is a 1 star campsite in a 4 star canyon. You are packed in like sardines, the only amenity is the toilet and trash and its so disgusting they should be paying you to camp here. That bathroom will shave years off your life.. not worth paying.

Beautiful, quiet, relaxing. Bill, the campground host, was very nice and helpful!

We have previously camped here since other campgrounds were full. At that time the stretch from the main road to the campground was so awful. This time that stretch was still awfully bad. Potholes, dips and craters were about ready to swallow any moving vehicle. The walls in vault toilets were rotting with peeling paint. The minute you lift the toilet lid, flies would attack you from inside the vault, yikes! Bad road, bad facilities, bad maintenance. Will not return.

Great location across the river from the highway with plenty of shade. Unfortunately the stench from the two conveniently located toilets is otherworldly and wafts throughout the campground, leaving you no escape. I suppose one option would be to keep a smokey fire going day and night to try to smoke it out, but who wants to deal with that? We’ve never had an experience remotely like this one, including camping overseas. Wow.

Awesome campground! Plenty of room at each site so it's quiet. It sits right next to the beautiful Taylor river. Been coming here almost every summer as long as I can remember.

Awesome place in the Rockies to camp and very affordable pit toilets and dumpster and a wonderful Taylor River nearby. Very large campsites that are spaced extremely far apart so there's much privacy.

Absolutely gorgeous spot to camp. Right on the Taylor river. Tons of trees for shade. Deep fire pits with grill grate. Fed hummingbirds from my hand as they flew around. Great fishing. Camp host Gene was friendly and had firewood.
